Description
Single pull-cord switch module with red call
button. Switch module body colour grey or white.
The pull-cord switch module is a teleCARE nurse
call system peripheral device. This wall or ceiling
mounted switch module incorporates a pull-cord
call switch including a 2 m long cord with two
safety break plastic balls and 1 red button with an
LED which illuminates to indicate the activated
condition. In certain applications the LED
permanently emits a low intensity light for night
locating and identification in the dark
The switch module is supplied with the cover
plate, red button, printed circuit board and a
50mm length of cord, permanently attached to
the pull-cord module. No replacement items are
necessary in this assembly and for maintenance
purposes the switch module assembly is
completely replaceable.
The pull-cord is supplied as a kit consisting of a 2
m length of red plastic covered nylon cord and two
balls which can be opened in half. The balls are
designed so that the two halves of the ball break
apart if the cord is pulled with excessive force to
prevent damage to the switch and injury to

people. The two halves of the ball can be simply

snapped back together.
The single pull-cord switch module requires a
single backplate which must be ordered
separately. The backplate enables this switch
module to be mounted over different types of
backboxes. A spacer with installation kit for
surface mounting may be ordered separately in
cases where there is no backbox.
A plastic wet area cover (WAC) is available which
gives water ingress protection up to IPX3. It fits
over the switch module and is sealed with silicone
sealant.

Applications
The pull-cord switch module is designed for wall or
ceiling mounting in bathrooms, toilets and areas
of high humidity. It is suitable for use in all
teleCARE systems. Pulling the cord will activate a
call and the LED in the switch will illuminate.The
red button with the nurse symbol can also be used
to activate a call. A separate switch module is
required in order to cancel calls from the pull-cord
switch module.
