Gods Greatest Gift

November 29-December 5

Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron and
his family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is
flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go
well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great You are and
how much I love You. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed.
In Jesus name, Amen

Jesus came into the world to save me from my sins.

Luke 1:32
I am thankful and I show others I am thankful.
Psalms 100:4
I will remember what Jesus did for me on the cross.
Luke 22:19

Jesus came into the world to save Gods people from their sins.

Luke1:32, He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most
High; and the Lord God will give unto Him the throne of His father
David.

The land of the Israel, or Judea as it was called was the home of the
Jews. When the story of the New Testament began, Israel was ruled
by King Herod. Herod had been appointed king by the emperor of
Rome. The Jews had been under Roman rulers for a long time and
they wanted to be free from Rome. Their only hope was in the words
they got from the Jewish prophets who said that God would one
day send someone to deliver them from their enemies. He would be
called the Messiah. Jews hoped and prayed about this Messiah all the
time. They often talked about what he would be like.
Mary and Joseph were a young Jewish couple who were soon to
be married. They had lived their whole lives under Roman rule and
wondered if they would ever be free and if they had children, would
their own children be ruled by Rome. When would God send the
Messiah? Nobody knew exactly when or how, but they trusted
that the Savior was coming soon because God had promised and
He always kept His promises. As it turned out, young Mary was the
first to know the time of the Messiahs arrival. She was visited by an
angel named Gabriel. He told her that she had been chosen to be
the mother of Gods Son. Mary didnt know how it was possible, but
the angel said that the Holy Spirit would come over her, and the Holy
Child born to her would be called the Son of God. Mary said yes to
Gods plan. Joseph was troubled by the news, but God sent another
angel to tell him that all Mary had said was true. Gabriel even told
Joseph that the baby was to be named Jesus, which means He will
save His people from their sins. Mary and Joseph trusted Gods plan
for their lives and baby Jesus.
