Bennett Lane Winery Announces Two New Tasting Programs for Visitors
Cozy Up To Calistoga Cab and Seated Tasting Debuts
Calistogas Bennett Lane Winery recently announced two new
additions to its tasting room offerings. The new programs provide
visitors to the boutique estate with a diverse range of choices, each
aimed at celebrating the winerys Napa Valley surroundings,
specifically Calistoga, plus their relaxed and friendly customer service.
Autumns shorter days and cooler climes are the inspiration for the
winerys new Cozy Up To Calistoga Cab tasting. Ongoing through
December 31, the guided tasting, led by a seasoned wine specialist,
features four exceptional Cabernet Sauvignons and Cabernet blends
from Bennett Lane. After warming up the palate with a taste of the
popular Bennett Lane Chardonnay, Sangiacomo Vineyard, Carneros,
guests will be treated to a fab-Cab wine lineup including, Maximus
Red Feasting Wine, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and the very limited-release, single
vineyard-designated Bennett Lane Lynch Family Estate Cabernet
Sauvignon. As an added treat, a barrel sample of a future vintage of the
pinnacle Lynch Family Cabernet will be available for enjoyment as
well.
Served in the friendly and cozy surroundings of the Bennett Lane
Winery tasting room, its a great way to ward off autumns chill, as
guests delve into the unique flavor characteristics that distinguish and
define Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley and especially
those from Calistoga. The flight is $55 per person for private groups
of two to six people.
In addition to the seasonal Cozy Up To Calistoga Cab tasting,
visitors to the winery can also experience their Seated Tasting
option. This offering, available the year round, allows groups of
two to six people to do a deep dive into the winerys more exclusive
wine offerings under the guidance of a personal wine specialist.
Guests will be greeted upon arrival by their host and seated at a
private table. The specialist will then lead the group through a
tasting of four of Bennett Lanes top end wines, including their

Sustainability Rocks!
The Balletto family sustainably farms 16 ranches with more
than 600 acres of prime vineyards adjacent to the Laguna de
Santa Rosa. They only keep 10% of the top quality grapes that
they farm and sell the rest to reputable wineries.
BALLETTO
VINEYARDS
A Convenient Must-Stop!
Balletto Vineyards is conveniently located on the outskirts of Santa Rosa and
the perfect stop as you wend your way through the Russian River Valley. Why?
The staff is friendly, engaging and knowledgeable, the Balletto family is great
people, the surroundings are beautiful and the wines are wonderful and
reasonably priced.
The tasting room and winery are housed in a large warehouse-like building,
but once you are inside the tasting room, it feels like you are inside a Tuscan
villa. The walls are painted in warm tones and a long concrete bar spans one
side of the room. A tasteful selection of wine-related gifts is displayed around
the room.
Jim Marshall Seen Through The Eyes Of Carlos Santana Exhibit Opens at Mumm Napa
The collection of photographs by
Jim Marshall, curated personally
by Carlos Santana, will celebrate the
release of Mumm Napas Santana Savor
Limited Release Wine
San Francisco Art Exchange (SFAE)in
association with Mumm Napa, Jim Marshall
Photography LLC and Carlos Santana
announces Jim Marshall Seen Through The
Eyes Of Carlos Santana, an exhibit curated
by Carlos Santana to show Jim Marshalls
genius as a photographer, a chronicler of
history and portraitist of no equal.
The exhibit is comprised of 40 original
photographs by Jim Marshall, including
iconic images of Santana and some of Carlos
favorite musicians (mentors and great
influences to Santana). The exhibit coincides
with Mumm Napas limited release of
Santana Savor, a luscious wine inspired by
the music of Carlos Santana. The label
features a photograph of Carlos taken by
Marshall and personally chosen by Carlos to
represent the wine. A portion of the proceeds
from the sale of Mumm Napas Santana Savor
Limited Release Wine goes directly to Carlos
Santanas Milagro Foundation, which benefits
underserved and vulnerable children in the
areas of education, health and the arts.
Marshall and Santana met in 1965
through the Santana Blues Bands road
manager. The manager asked Jim to do a
favor and take a photo of the band. Jim
agreed, and that was the start of a lifelong
friendship. Jim always said that Carlos
seemed to bring out the humanity in him: I
love the guy and he plays the guitar like
nobody else.
This exhibit illustrates that humanity in
Jim Marshall. Carlos curated this exhibit to
show Jims genius as a photographer, a
chronicler of history and portraitist of no
equal. Jim Marshall and Carlos Santanas
friendship is enduring, said Amelia Davis,
Jim Marshall Photography LLC.
Jim Marshall is the most celebrated and
prolific photographer of the 20th century
widely known for his iconic music

Whats New?
Last year saw the end of the tasting ticket
era, with the implementation of the
simplistic tasting bracelet system which
ensured attendees no longer had to
frantically search their pockets for tickets.
This system proved to be a success and this
year, attendees will once again sport colorcoded tasting bracelets for food and wine.
There will, however, be a limited number of
bracelets sold for the event. Attendees 21 and
older receive a green bracelet and a souvenir
wine glass for $25; designated drivers and
those under 21 receive a red bracelet for food
and non-alcoholic beverages for $15; and,
theres a white tasting bracelet for children
under 12 (free).
At 2:15 p.m., Santa will arrive with sirens
and flashing lights on CalFires big hook-andladder fire truck. Carolers in period costume
will stroll around the community center, the
heart of this years festival. There will be
romantic carriage rides clip-clopping down
glittering lanes, photos with Santa and his
convenient and enjoyable holiday shopping experience. From handpainted chocolates and exquisite jewelry, to local artwork and luxury
spa goodies, Yountvilles local artists and artisans offer something
extra-special for everyone on your holiday gift list.
The Festival of Lights will also feature a silent auction to benefit
childrens programs in Yountville, and CalFire will be on hand to
collect toys for the Napa County Toy Drive.
Event Schedule
All events are located at the Yountville Community Center, 6516
Washington Street, Yountville, CA.

Founded in 1992, today Frank Family owns 380 acres of the finest vineyard land
in Napa Valley and has one of the biggest word-of-mouth followings in the wine
country. First constructed as the Larkmead Winery in 1884, the historic stone
building on the property was refinished with native sandstone from the nearby
hills in 1906. The massive stone edifice is considered one of the finest structures
in the Napa Valley; it appears on the National Register of Historical Places and is
listed as a Point of Historical Interest in the state of California.

28 wineries and tasting rooms located on scenic Sonoma Highway
where for a century and a half many of the vintages that have made
California wines world leaders in viticulture have been harvested.
In the 10 mile stretch of the wine country, in the environs of Glen
Ellen and Kenwood, youll find a blend of family owned and
classically beautiful wineries filled with award winning wines,
charming B&Bs and elegant Luxury Inns, stylish wine bars, a
diverse selection of restaurants and cafs, state parks, a lavender
farm, olive presses and gift shops.

Young Talent takes over the Kitchen at Mayo Family Winery Reserve Room
Chef cooks unforgettable dishes for winery owner and is hired on the spot
Mayo Family Winery announces the hiring of new Executive
Chef Samuel Frumkin, who took over the operations and kitchen at
the Reserve Room on Highway 12 in Kenwood in October.
The Mayo Reserve Room takes guests on the ultimate wine
country tasting journey unlike anything theyve experienced in a
wine tasting room before. Not only can guests taste through reserve
label wines, they are taken on a food and wine adventure with
Executive Chef Samuel Frumkins custom menu.
Mayo Family Winery owner Jeffrey Mayo began the search for a
new Executive Chef after former chef Clayton Lewis left to open his
own restaurant at the Tomales Bay resort and interviewed multiple
candidates. Coming to the interview process late in the game, Chef
Sam Frumkin was given the task of creating two dishes to pair with
the Mayo Reserve Chardonnay and Zinfandel wines. Using his
culinary experience and expertise from the Culinary Institute of
America, Olivia in Austin Texas, Eleven Madison Park in
Manhattan, and finally at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inns Sante
restaurant, Frumkin created a Roasted Fennel Vichyssoise for the
Chardonnay and a Chinese five-spice brisket, each pulling from
personal and professional experience, and was offered the job on
the spot. Both dishes will be featured in the November/December
menu.
Not only were the flavors Sam was able to create in these two
dishes unlike anything I had ever had, the presentation, correlating
stories and feel of genuine hospitality in his interview are what
drove me to offer him the job, said owner Jeffrey Mayo. I am very
54
excited for Sam to further explore his talents in food, wine and
hospitality and create memorable experiences for our guests month
after month.
The menu at the reserve room will change every two months,
with inspiring new dishes and wines served for guests to enjoy.
Ive been working in some of the best kitchens my entire life,
but always loved the home style, feel-good cooking my family
created at home, said Chef Sam Frumkin. The inspiration for my
first menu came from that upbringing, with some of my best
memories stemming from big meals with lots of wine, and most
importantly, family. Theres always been food and family, so now
sharing my cooking with others is an amazing opportunity to do
what I love. I want to bring dishes that really demonstrate
technique, but with simple and approachable dishes. A home style
cooking style but in a refined context.
Along with the hiring of Chef Sam, Mayo Family Winery
welcomes Sous Chef Sara Martinez, a recent graduate of the
Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, to join Sam in the
reserve room kitchen.
