Jejomar C. Binay, as we all know, is the current vice president and the
ex-mayor of Makati City. Currently he is aspiring to become the next
President of the Philippines. However Binay is currently facing many issues
regarding corruption. As the ex-mayor of Makati, Binay is accused of
overpricing city governments projects for kickbacks. Also, Binay is accused
of having big mansions while not declaring this properties in his SALN.
Furthermore various cases of Graft Corruptionare currently filed against
Binay. Because of this issues Binay is currently having a low result in
presidential election surveys, simply stated hisrating is not that good.
To improve the rating of JejomarBinay, the issues that he currently face
must be erased in the memory of the mass. To do that Binay must create a
marketing strategy that would, first get the attention of the Filipinos, second
highlight the achievements of Binay both in the City of Makati and in the
Country as the vice president, and lastly, imprint in the mind of the Filipinos
that JejomarBinays issues are far less than what he had accomplished.
Lets start with getting the attention of Filipinos. Basically, a negative
statement against a person who is highly favored or highly disfavored, would
get the attention of a person. To do that advertisements could be made with
a starting line of AngKorrupttalaganiBinay or any other lines that is saying
negative things about Binay. By doing such, we are applying what we call
Reverse psychology. Reverse psychology is a technique involving the
advocacy of a belief or behavior that is opposite to the one desired, with the
expectation that this approach will encourage the subject of the persuasion
to do what actually is desired: the opposite of what is suggested. This
technique is probably one of the best way to market Binay due to big issues
that he is currently facing. What we are trying to do is to make use of the
issues against binay that is known to most Filipinos. By doing such, both pro
and against Binay would be indulged in the advertisement.
