Project Charter

Justines Sweets and Buko Pies is a small scale of a family business

owned by Mr. Larry and Mrs. Sally Sarmiento. It is located at Sto. Tomas,
Batangas and started on 1996 when Mr. Sarmiento return to the Philippines
from the sea to start their business. They start from a small budget until it
began to grow more for it to be enough to sustain their daily life. It is known
for their specialty in making and selling buko pie and sweets primarily
pastillas, masapan and yema. They are also known for always smiling in
front of their costumer and treat them as one of them. The business only
have three workers that also came from the family.
On the long run of Justines Sweets and Buko Pies, it also experiences
many hindrances but the problem most urgently needed to be solved is the
shortage on storage space. From that the researchers came up with the
project floor plan. This project aims to provide convenience and efficient
floor plan for Justines Sweet and Buko Pies that can help to maximize the
workspace area.
To have successful output, the project is guided by the following objectives:

To analyze and evaluate the current storage area in conditions of its

structure and plan.

To determine the appropriate dimension and create a new floor plan

for the storage that is suitable for the workers.

To conduct a workshop for the awareness and learning of the workers

of the new workplace and the more convenient storage plan.

The project is supported by various evidences of success. To start, the
minutes of the meeting serve as the major indication of progress, for such
papers hold all the features of the project from planning to execution. The
accomplished/ filled up survey forms, on the other hand, indicate that there
was a survey executed. The result from the conducted survey is not parallel
to the expectations set by the researchers.
Despite the advantages of the project, it also has limitations. The
project is only concerned about the maximization of the workspace area, it

Page | 1

doesnt address or assess the equipment, materials and ingredients that are
also vital on the businesss daily routine.

Activity List
The Activity List below shows the division of the three main focus of
the project. Below each focus are the steps to be done for each objectives.
The name below each step are the one responsible for the said step. Each
step is needed to be done for the product to be aesthetically convenient and
productive.

The targets dates of accomplishment may vary depending on the
duration of the pre-requisite activity of each step. Gaps are provided in
order to have preparations especially for reports during meetings.

Upon the completion of the product, the member assigned in each

activity will also be the one in charge of the evaluation process. The target

dates of accomplishment will be monitored to avoid delays that might result

to failure to each output. An immediate report will be given by the member
assigned to the activity if there will be unexpected problems or hindrances
so that it will secure immediate solutions.

Risk Identification
The categories inside the table shows the risks that the researchers
have encountered. Each risk has given the measure of problem and impact
that it causes the project proven by the description under the risk column.
But then, the researchers made the possible ways to reduce the
consequences. Upon the mitigation process, it shows that all the impacts
decreased from being high/medium to low.
