III. MINISTRY PURPOSE:
A. To Promote the Mission and Vision of Sports Outreach Institute while providing support to the administrative staff relating to the various functions of the business office of Sports Outreach Institute in accordance with this position description.
IV. TALENTS / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
A. Clerical Skills; Pleasant phone manner; proficient in basic computer knowledge; organizational skills B. Dependable; Discreet; Professional; Friendly, Good level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality. C. Appropriate and professional behavior at all times.
V. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
A. GENERAL OFFICE ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT 1. Perform basic receptionist duties: receive, screen, and direct incoming calls and take messages when appropriate and distribute to the appropriate person in a timely manner; welcome on-site visitors, determine nature of visit, and direct them to the appropriate staff member. 2. Assist with typing, photocopying, mailing, phoning and other administrative needs such as filing, letters, e-mail, web site upkeep. 3. Sign for UPS/Fed Ex/DHL packages. 4. Make and/or return phone calls as appropriate, usually per request. 5. At the end of each day, check and fill all copiers, printers and fax machine with paper. B. SHORT-TERM MISSION TRIPS OFFICE SUPPORT 1. Maintain files for each outreach trip participant, watch for incoming trip forms, check that they are filled out correctly and signed. 2. Keep track of the collection progress of incoming forms and send regular updates to the Short-Term Missions Director and the Operations Director. 3. Assist in compiling emergency booklets as directed by the Operations Director in consultation with the Short- Term Missions Director. C. AS DIRECTED BY THE ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR OR OPERATIONS DIRECTOR 1. Data entry in GiftWorks and QuickBooks, becoming knowledgeable in both programs. 2. Type routine correspondence and reports using personal computer. 3. Assist in various special projects. 4. Assist with additional duties and perform other tasks as requested
VI. POSITION COMPENSATION – WORK HOURS, SALARY, AND EXPENSES:
A. Work Hours: Position is 10 – 15 hours per week. B. Salary Compensation: $8.50 per hour starting salary C. Work Schedule: As negotiated with the Administrative or Operations Director
