1.

Prescribed use

The training panel is a component of the modular training panel system TPS 8.2 for automatic
control technology.

2.

Location of use

Operate in dry rooms, which are suitable for experimenting with electrical operating equipment or
installations.

3.4. Description/function
The PID controller contains:
a P-action controller, an I-action element and a D-action element
one inverting 2and two non-inverting 13 inputs, which lead to a differential amplifier at the
controller input. The difference can be measured at socket bq.
a control deviation display bqupstream from the controller
a summing point non-inverting 8and inverting 9 at the output
The proportional controller gain Kp can be set coarsely using switch4in steps of x 0.1, x 1, x 10,
x 100 and continuously from 0 to 10 using the control knob 7.

The correction time TN, measured in seconds, can be switched on using the I/OFF switch 5, while
a coarse setting in steps of x 0.01, x 0.1, x 1, x 10, x 100 is performed using switch 6 and a continuous setting from 0.1 to 1 is made using control knob bp.
The rate time of the derivative-action element Tv, measured in seconds, can be switched on using
the D/OFF switchbn, while the switchbmis used for a coarse setting in steps of x 0.01, x 0.1, x 1,
x 10, x 100 and a continuous setting from 0.02 to 0.2 is made using control knob bo.
The setpoint or reference variable is fed to the non-inverting input 1, the actual value to the inverting input 2.
The control deviation display bq indicates whether the actual value is greater than or less than the
setpoint value.
The inverting 9 and non-inverting 8 input of the summing point at the controller output permit the
forward feed of base loads, for example. Consequently the controller only needs to supply the
manipulated variable for any deviation from this base load.
The integration capacitor can be short-circuited via the input

bs:

Initial condition ZERO.

An external offset calibration can be carried out using socket

br.

5.

Putting into operation and operating

The device is inserted into the panel frames and connected to a suitable 15 V power supply
device, e.g. cat. no. 726 86.
