Chapter 9

It is often observed that there is an essential difference between metaphysical and

scientific reasoning. Do you agree with this? Can scientific theories such as the Big Bang
theory, hold any real relevance for meta physical questions such as the question of God?
Can a scientific claim also be a metaphysical claim?
There is a difference between the two. Some scientist make metaphysical judgments to
come to a conclusion and philosophers tend to use metaphysical judgment also when
searching for a means to answer a complex question. Theories such as the Big Bang
theory dont seem to fully enter either classes but more of a hybrid of the two. Many
scientists have used some of the most advanced scientifical means to discover the
metaphysical world and none were able to neither approve nor disprove the accuracy of
it. Some people have used the studying of atoms to try and a conclusion to no avail the
curiosity was not satisfied. Therefor may have some to the conclusion that both may seem
very different they tend to overlap each other in many aspects.
Chapter 10
In this chapter different level or kinds of religions experiences have been noted. Can you
yourself identify with any of them? Might one feel, without believing in God that such
experiences are significant? How so or why not?
I could identify myself with the western mythical religion or aspect. I believe that one
cant truly have feeling without any type of religious believe or believing in some form of
supernatural force or energy .I believe that feeling without believing in some form of
superior being cant truly be feeling at all . It is the need for religion that allows things
such as morality to exist because what else would cause people to create morally right
laws or stops people from following their primal instinct and creating chaos.
Chapter 11
Do you think that the standard solution to the problem of evil tend to trivialize the
problem or do any of them have real merit
Some of the solutions about the thoughts about evil being the lack of goodness make
sense. The thought that God is omnipotent makes logical sense because if God is

omnipotent then goodness should be the only presence that should be perceivable. Some
say that it is his lack of perceivable presence that is deemed evil. other believe that a
perfect world isnt possible because for there needs to be a balance if things were good
all the time then how would we know any other thing besides good then would good
really exist . if the world needs evil to balance good to make the perfect world then
those who are deemed evil were they born evil or was it learned . Lastly Christians
believe that humans are born in the image of God but humans contain some form of evil
does that mean that God contains some form of evil? The thought of free will that was
given to human the choice to choose good and bad shouldnt God have known that
giving humans that choice would lead us away from his mercy
