Nia : This is anatomy book

: Really ? Do you like reading about it ?

Nia : Yes,I like it a lot.How about you ?

: I prefer read novel than read about science.By the way

how do you feel
about study in PPNS ?

Nia : Its challenging.Because I must try to learn with different

method in
PPNS,the Lecturer explains more detail than in my
previous college. But
there, the students used to be active in the class.
Via

: Oh,I see.Do you want to go to canteen ?

Nia : Sure (walking to the canteen)

Its so different.When I studies in my previous college,I
and my friend
used to go to the library in the break time.

Via : Yeah.The students here prefer go to the canteen than go

to the library.
You can see yourself, the library in PPNS is not crowded.
Nia : Yeah.And the other differences is now my class schedule
are full.When
I was study in there , the lecture already ended at 12 am.

: Im Azhar nice to meet you too.I heard that in
Australia the lecture is

Nia : Yeah.But we get so many assignment from the lecturers

: I thinks its easier than the program here.We can do
our hobby and also
develop our talent in non-academic also.

: Today all of you will have workshop tour in PPNS,

: Okay then. So we are going to start the tour from
sheet and metal workshop. Follow me.

: What a big workshop. What kind of work are doing

: Sheet metal workshop is used for processing metal
materials. In here, we will use some tool for processing the
metal materials.

: Can I ask a question ?

: Sure, what is that ?

: What is the name of this machine and what is the
function?
Ghaniy
: This is a lathe machine, the function of this machine
is to decrease the size of tube metal material.
Azhar
: How does the machine work ? it looks
complicated to used.
Ghaniy
: First we put the material on the clamp, and then we
set the knop for the rotation of the metal material. Then we set
the position of the knife to decrease the size of metal material.
We must do it properly and carefully.

: How to spell clamp ?

: Its C-L-A-M-P, it used for gripping the metal
material

: Is there any multifunction machine that can
bending, lathe, milling and grinding ?
Ghaniy
: Ahhh smart boy, we will see that machine on the
CNC workshop. Lets go!

: It is the CNC machine that you mention before

: Right,as you see there are five machines in this
workshop.The fuction is same only the model is different.

: How to operate this machine ? There are big panel

: First we make the design on the CAD or CAM on the
computer,after the design done we connect it to the CNC
machine.And it will make our design automatically.
Azhar
: Is it safe to work on workshop without any
personal protective equipment ?
Ghaniy
: No.Its not safe at all.Is enough for today,lets go to
Dewaruci Hall to take a lunch.

: Okay,lets take a lunch.

On the workshop class

: Hey, I wanna use the big machine.But i dont
know how to use
it,because the lecturer only taught us how to use the
small one. Can
you tell me the way to use it ?

: Wait, I want to do my job first.

: Come on, come here please.

Via
: Okay,wait. Hmmm . . .the buttons are different from
the small one. I dont know how to use it for make the surface
of the side smooth. I dont know.

Azhar
: Hufft . . . . I think the small one is easier than
the big one then.
Yanniza and Nia see the conversation between Azhar and
Via, and then they come to help them.
Yanniza : Let me see. I think this one is easier. If we wan to
make this diameter become 20mm, just rotate the knop here
from to 0 to 20. We dont have to rotate it again or add 2 more
on the knop. But if you use the small one, you must rotate the
knop from 0 to 18, and then add 2 more so you will stop at 2.

: Oh I get it.

: Im agree with you. The big machine is also last
longer than the small one.

: I dont agree, look at this. There are so many knops
here, its so
confusing. There are so many adjustment for one procces
rather than
the small machine.
Yanniza : Calm down, there are always be an advantage and
disanvantage to use something same but in different model. It
depends on how we use it too.

: Yeah thats right. Lets finish our assignment then.

Situation 4
In another work shop, the students assemble in front of
workshop tohear the instructions from the Lecturer. (Nia)

: Lets pray . . . . finish.

Yanniza : Today we will continue our last week project. But

first let me tell
you that yesterday there were an accident happened to
the student
who doesnt follow my instruction. So if we dont want it
happen to us,

so follow all of the instructions already said before start

doing the
project.

: Okay maam

Yanniza

: Hey . . .wait . . .wait , where is your safety shoes ?

Peny
: Sorry sir, my foot cant use safety shoes because of
the injury.
Yanniza : I dont want to take the responbility if there are an
accident. Better step aside and watch your friend working.
Peny

: Yes maam
Everybody is finishing their assignment, and then the

: Is that right your fot got injury ?

Peny
: Hhahahaha,no. I just bored to use safety shoes. Its
heavy when you step with safety shoes on.
Nia

: Is for our safety right ?

Peny

: Yes. But Its okay.

Nia

: Be carefull then.

: Ahhhhhhh . . . . my foot . . . . my foot. Help !!

: What happen ? what happen ?

: I will take the first aid box, wait a minute.

: Whats going on ?

: The hammer falls into C foot sir.

Yanniza : I already told you to step aside because you dont

wear your safety shoes right ? Its important to follow the
instructions here. Its for our safety.

: Im sorry maam, Im so regret.

Yanniza : As a safety engineer, you must know what are the
hazard in this workshop. Can someone please answer, what are
they?

: (raises her hand) for example the iron powder from
the waste of the machine that we use.
Yanniza

: Okay thats right. What else?

: Me. We can learn from the accident that happened
to peny. For avoid the hazard we must wear personal protective
equipment.
Yanniza

: Can you mention the equipments?

Irul
: We must use safety shoes, cattlepack, and for avoid
noise we can wear earmuff or ear plug.
Peny
: Iron powder is highly flammable and it is dangerous
if it reacts with acid accidentally.
Yanniza : Good. Can someone mention possible danger of iron
powder?

: It can damage our eyes, skin, and respiratory

: (raises her hand) I dont agree with Azhar. It will not
make our skin irritated and If its swallowed it will damage our
digestive system.
Yanniza

: Good. And then what are the first aid measures?

: For skin contact, we can wash our hands with soap
and water. For eye contact, we can irrigate the eye thorough
with clean water.

: And for ingestion, obtain medical attention if large
quantities have been ingested.

: Can I mention the fire fighter measure mom ?

: Sure,go on.

: Use foam,CO2,water spray or dry powder
extinghuiser.Its really effective.
Yanniza : As you know this material like most materials in
powder form,is capable of creating a dust explosion in large
quantities.What is the method to clean that material ?

: Mom,we can sweep it and shovel up the
dust.Dispose of in with accordance Local Authority Regulations.
