BACKGROUND
Cinnamon is one of the medicinal plant that can be use to cook, for cosmetics and also can be processing
into drug. Cinnamon comes from family Lauraceae. According to FAOSTAT, Indonesia is the largest country that
export Cinnamon especially for the largest importer country of Cinnamon, USA. Unfortunately, for the farmer, there
is no strategy that exactly increase their economy. Elmanora et.al (2012) found out that most of farmer in Kerinci,
Jambi has a low quality in order to get profit as one of area where a lots of Cinnamons. The indicator is a simple
poverty scorecard for Indonesia such as BPS and BKBN. From all of data we concluded that there is problem of
marketing in case. The farmer just sell the Cinnamon to the people that usually take a lot of benefit before it takes to
industry. It caused the farmer used to think that Cinnamon is not good enough to harvesting. Daswir (????) identified
that Cinnamon processing is not commensurate with farmers fee. We exactly need a good processing to increase
farmers economy and welfare. The aim of this research is to have a solution or to maximize Cinnamon potential for
people welfare. Besides, Cinnamon eksport in way of processing will increase dollars income in Indonesia. The
industry will make a profit from Cinnamon powder with low price.

METHODOLOGY
This research takes a simple method.
Firstly we search the data about Indonesian
product dependent other country. We found that
Cinnamon eksport decreasing rapidly at 2010 and
then there is no significant increasing after that.
That problem is commensurate with economic
welfare in Indonesia. From all data we have
developed ways to solve the farmer economic
welfare problem.

RESULTS/DISCUSSION
Based on the data, we have known that
farmer of Cinnamon in Indonesia has a low economic welfare quality even as the largest Cinnamon eksport in the
world. From that data we can formulated several factors that influence problems. Firstly, the trade of Cinnamon is
not efficient because of there are some people that take a lot of benefit from that before sell to the industry. The
second problem is about Cinnamon processing is not good enough for industrial. The last is the pharmaceutical
industry has to eksplore about potential of Cinnamon. Cinnamon is often known only useful for spicy instead of
many advantage for industrial business. From those problems we have an idea to increase economic welfare of
Cinnamons farmer. It is beginning from processing, marketing and maximize the potential of Cinnamons area.
Pharmaceutical industry material is potential for pharmaceutical preparation such as Cinnamo powder, distilled
Cinnamon powder, Concentrated cinnamon water, Tincture of Cinnamon, Aromatic chalk mixture, Ammoniated

preparation need an investor and support from the
government. People who work for Cinnamon (Source : FAOSTAT, 2014)
processing have to be selected person. They need a
high education. The government should several Cinnamon farmers child to school in order to have a professional
worker that possibly develop processing and marketing of the Cinnamon. After that, building a profit pharmaceutical
industry is important as we mention at the problem. A good processing and marketing can ease pharmaceutical
industry to get a basic material from Cinnamon that is more economical. That exactly can increase Indonesian
income from industrial system.
