Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:-

Course
Description

CLO1: explain clearly blocks, parts, components and instructions found in

the automation systems. (C2)
CLO2: construct simple automation sequential control of hardwired or PLC
system based on IEC 61131 and NEMA standards. (C4)
CLO3: handle the troubleshooting and maintenance of hardwired or PLC
automation systems using appropriate equipment. (P3)
CLO4: demonstrate problem solving skill while handling the hardwired or
PLC automation systems based on IEC and NEMA standards. (A3)
PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER (PLC) AND AUTOMATION
provides knowledge regarding the concept and principle of automation
system as well as PLC. This course emphasizes the relationship between
relay ladder logic/hardwired and PLC, application of industrial sensors and
actuators through the PLC, design process, programming and
maintenance method. This course also provides knowledge and skills in
designing of automation system based on the applications of PLC.
