TTS Offshore Handling Equipment offers a complete range of active heave compensated subsea winches, in various sizes up to 600 tonnes, for subsea deployment up to 3000 meters water depth.
Active heave compensation
(AHC) systems are increasingly being deployed to complement deepwater installation applications. However, problems are often encountered during installation, especially at greater water depths. Typically, these are: the uncontrollability of the load at the surface; excessive dynamic amplification of the load during lowering; and instability when a vulnerable load approaches the seabed. For these reasons, TTS has designed AHC subsea winches
to withstand rough operation
in any offshore environment. Precise load handling is critical when mating subsea units on the seabed and precision becomes even more critical in rough seas or weather. So the TTS system is especially designed for load handling controlled from a vessel or rig with operation towards the seabed, as well as towards underwater installations and other fixed targets on the seabed.
The active heave
compensation (AHC) system These TTS winches are each equipped with an AHC system. The system itself relies on data sent from a motion reference unit (MRU). The winches are directly operated by hydraulic winch motors (secondary control) in a closed loop hydraulic system. The AHC solution gives the following benefits: There is a constant N2 / gas pressure, which requires no compressor The system is compact, with few components, and therefore easier to maintain Manual overload protection system (MOPS) Automatic overload protection system (AOPS) Video camera for inspection of winch drum Lubrication system gear ring / pinion. The AHC modes are as follows: Normal winch mode to AHC mode AHC mode to constant tension mode Variable constant tension for penetrating loads
Semi-automatic lift off /
hook up / hook release Winch can be lowered simultaneously when working at maximum power in AHC mode.
The winch operates in:
Normal mode Constant tension AHC. Optional Modes: Auto-pilot, by which the winch pays out or in to a given length, then stops Splash zone
Controlled landing and
penetration on soft seabed.
TTS also develops special
handling modes based on your operational requirements.
