This project focuses on design of a

small Tate Gallery for temporary exhibitions on Architecture to mark 25 years
of the institution in Liverpool. The focus
of this project is the use of materials,
their construction principles, production, characteristics and application,
and to investigate their structural,
spatial and environmental qualities in
a small building.Design scheme has
been developed on the basis of the site
analysis carried out in order to establish
best possible urban and environmental
strategy where important factors to be
considered were people movement
through the site and the maximization
of the north light exposure in the gallery
spaces.

Gallerys narrative and its key consideration was to create journey which would lead visitors between spaces and which would highlight the change of materiality, concrete finishes and the light qualities of
the spatial experience. Design focuses on the lighting effects which are provided mostly by the narrow cut outs in the concrete walls which emphasize internal movement. Rough Concrete of the Gallery
exterior is softened by the introduction of series of vertical slits in concrete and glazing systems of solid glass elements embedded within a concrete itself.

For this studio project we were given a

site located between the Fire Station,
which was the project for semester 1,
and the Nursery School. The main task
of the brief was to design a one form
entry Primary School considering how
the building presents itself to its surroundings and how it related to the Fire
Station Project. Design aims to produce a safe learning environment with
the maximization of the outdoors areas

I have been working for Orms Architects for the past 8 months
which I believe has provided me
with a great insight into the dayto-day running of the architectural
office and helped me extend my
knowledge concerning aspects of
the construction industry and technical investigation into a building. I
have been involved in over 20 projects on different stages from new
build through competitions to listed
buildings. This has involved producing drawings in 2d and 3d media, taking part in design reviews,
project presentations and liaising
within various professionals.
