LIST OF WORLDBEX SEMINARS

2002
Scheduled from March 14 to 15 at the Skyline Restaurant of the World Trade Center in Pasay City, the
Worldbex Seminars 2002 is the most awaited seminar series in the global building and construction
industry.

The line up of speakers include Vicente Laza of the Philippines who will present a paper on Project
Financing Solutions: The LGU Bond; Mr. Graham Daines of Singapore who will share his expertise on the
topic Tall Buildings in Steel – Are They Still Safe; and Chee Kok Weng who is the authority in
Design and Construction of Affordable Housing in Singapore.

Others who confirmed their presence are Dr. Ken Yeang of Malaysia to present a paper on the Ecological
Design of Large Building and Sites; Andrew Moore, another Singaporean, who will explain to the
delegates How an International Practice Offers a Global Perspective on Hospitality Design; and Keith May
of New Zealand whose point of view on Reflective Foils and Its Benefits for Insulation in Tropical
Countries is expected to benefit many.

2004
Meanwhile The Worldbex Seminars scheduled on March 17 to 18 at the Philippine Trade and Training
Center (PTTC) will feature professional resource speakers from different countries.

The first speaker on March 17 is John S. Richards, director of Emerald Sales Center Corporation,
consultant of Emerald Systems and "TLX" Technical Lighting Philippines. Richards will give lighting
techniques for architects.

A product of Harvard University, Architect Rolando Miranda of R.T.M. Design Group will be giving a
lecture discussion entitled "Design: The Cutting Edge". Miranda will discuss ideas and style in
architectural design. Another resource speaker at the Worldbex Seminars is Rodd Eddy, president and
CEO of OSRAM Philippines, who will give a presentation themed a"Creating Tomorrow Through Lamp
Innovation."

Mark Faulkner, chairman and president of the air-conditioning manufacturing giant Carrier, and Lucia C.
Limson who is involved in design, installation, value engineering, product application, sales and marketing
of Commercial and Applied Carrier equipment and systems, will give updates on technological
advancements in air-conditioning systems in a joint presentation "New Technology Advances in A/C".

Philip J. Thoburn, co-founder of the Fors-sman Group, president of Forssman Pacific and director of Forssman Hong Kong Ltd., will give a presentation on "Spatial Coordination and Impact on Cost and Quality".
His experience encompasses a number of prominent buildings in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Philippines.

2008

Anchoring on the theme Expanding Opportunities Toward Bigger Horizons,


Worldbex Services International (WSI),Asias premier organizer of the biggest and
most-attended construction trade fairs in the region, brings the 10th Worldbex
Seminar Series slated on March 13-14, 2008 at the World Trade Center.

As part of the 13th Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition (Worldbex)
that will also showcase the Grand Embassy Pavilion and Architects and Interior
Designers Gallery, the seminar series will gather architects, engineers, interior
designers, building administrators, contractors, purchasers, entrepreneurs,
developers and all other construction professionals in the country.
The 10th Worldbex Seminars will feature lectures from construction experts: Arch.
Armando Nicoleta Alli, 2005 president and now senior officer of the Confederation of
Filipino Consulting Organizations on Local Planning, Design, Construction &
Development and Land and Building Use and Laws that Govern such Activities
BluPrint magazine Editor-in-Chief Arch. Paulo Alcazaren on The Future of the Filipino
Design Firms in the Philippines - a ten year outlook; Business Architect Gilbert Yu
on Why Buy? When You Can Build at Direct Cost!; and sought-after lecturer and
interior designer Leo Almeria on Go Green in Interior Design.
Foreign speakers from Singapore will also be present like Key Account Manager- Asia
Pacifics for SunTechnics Mr. Daniel Rosa on Building for the 21st CenturyIntegrating Solar Energy Systems, Engr. Russell Cole of Arup Faade Engineering;
and architecture expert Mac Gregore Ponce Tan will delve on Faade Design Trends
and the Value Faade Consultants Bring in Meeting these Challenges.
Also speaking in the seminar is internationally-recognized Feng Shui expert and
World of Feng Shui Philippines, Inc. (WOFS) President and CEO Ms. Marites Allen on
How to Think Big in the Year of the Earth Rat. Trained under the tutelage of
international Feng Shui experts in Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, she will
share her knowledge on improving residential and business wealth through feng
shui.
With these series of talks, WSI hopes to present the latest construction trends along
with the essential knowledge to propel construction alliance in the country,
eventually forging fast towards the global market.

2012
The WORLDBEX Seminars

This year also marks the 14th WORLDBEX Seminar series. Initially launched in 1999,
the seminars were held last March 15-17, 2012 at the Philippine Trade Training
Center (PTTC). 12 prestigious local and foreign speakers tackled a wide range of
topics, from entrepreneurial architecture, leadership and management, urban
planning, furniture design and advocacies in the fields of architecture and
construction.

This highlight is the shows contribution to the industry as it is always important to


incorporate new techniques, breakthroughs and innovations for the growth and
development of the professionals, enthusiasts and end- market involved in the
industry.
