On 27 December at around 17:00 hrs,

reportedly an inter-communal fight broke out
between community members of the MarialLou and Akop Payams in Tonj East County
in Warrap State. Twenty (20) people were
killed and seventeen (17) were wounded
during the fight. Allegedly, members of the
Luac community from Romich Payam in
Tonj East County joined the fight supporting
the Marial-Lou Payam. The reason for the
incident is supposedly due to revenge.
