Evaluation, Assessment, Test, and Measurement
PENGERTIAN
(Kizlik, 2015) mengemukakan bahwa:
1. Measurement refers to the process by which the attributes or dimensions of some physical object are
determined
2. Assessment is a process by which information is obtained relative to some known objective or goal.
3. Evaluation is perhaps the most complex and least understood of the terms. Inherent in the idea of
evaluation is "value." When we evaluate, what we are doing is engaging in some process that is
designed to provide information that will help us make a judgment about a given situation.
Generally, any evaluation process requires information about the situation in question.
Wiersma dan Jurs (1990) mengemukakan bahwa:
1. Measurement is the assignment of numerals to objects or event according to rules that give numerals
quantitative meaning. (Hal. 8)
2. Test commonly refers to a set of items or questions design to be presented to one or more students
under specified conditions. (Hal. 8)
3. Evaluation is a process that include measurements and possibly testing, but it also contains the notion
of value judgment (Hal. 9 )
Nitko, A. dan Brookhart, S. (2011) mengemukakan bahwa:
1. Assessment is board term defined as a process for obtaining information that is used for making
decisions about students; curricula, programs, and school; and educational policy. (Hal. 3)
2. A Test is define as an instrument or systematic procedure for observing and describing one more
characteristics pf a student using either a numerical scale or a classification scheme. (Hal. 5)
3. Measurement is define as a procedure for assigning numbers (usually called scores) to a specified
attribute or characteristic of a person such a way that numbers describe the degree to which the
person possesses the attribute. (Hal.6)

IKHTISAR
1. Evaluation (evaluasi) adalah proses pengambilan keputusan menggunakan penilaian yang berupa
pengumpulan data secara sistematis dengan menggunakan teknik pengukuran dan tes yang beragam dalam
penentuan tingkat dan rangking peserta didik.
2. Assessment (penilaian) adalah proses penyusunan, interpretasi, dan sintesis data atau informasi hasil
pengukuran untuk membantu proses pengambilan keputusan.
3. Test (tes) adalah suatu prosedur yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan tingkat pencapaian suatu tujuan penilaian
berdasarkan kriteria yang ditetapkan.
4. Measurement (pengukuran) adalah proses pengumpulan informasi biasanya dalam bentuk angka pada
sesuatu yang di tes kan dengan menggunakan instrument yang standar.
