CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION
A. General Background
Education is so important for all of us to us to confront the future. To
reach a dream we need education and science. Without education we can not
knowing. Education is the key to ones success in life. It can also preparing
students for a specific career and teaching students lifelong vales, discipline and
the ability to explore new ideas and to think independently.
However there are times when getting and tired of going on when they
are learning and then there was a case which is called saturation or surfeited
happens. Where someone up to the limit of capability to remember or to learn
something. Example if we forget that have maximum occurs in the study but,
forgotten after the study. The student will lead to laziness or saturation in the
study. Especially when someone feels bad mood or sick. It can make someone
feels the saturation or overfullness.
Where we know that a lot of activities in Assalaam boarding school that
we should do. Such as: scout, sports, extraculicular activities, speech, and
including learning by self. Where all activities draining lot of energy and makes
us has been tired. And how about learning? Which activities requiring physical
strength and healthy condition. This the writer interested to take a title

THE INFLUENCE OF SATURATION IN LEARNING TO FEMALE


STUDENTS OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL OF ASSALAAM BOARDING
SCHOOL In this paper.

B. Purpose of Study
In this paper, the writer has several purposes to be achieved some of the
purpose this paper arrangement is:
1. To finish study assignment of Assalaam Islamic Boarding School.
2.

To know the saturation level of Assalaam female students in following


learning activities.
3. To know the causes of Assalaam female students get saturation in learning
activities.

4. To know the influence of saturation in learning activities.


5. To know the effective solution of Assalaam female students to be spirit in
following learning activities.

C. Formulation of Problem
This paper will review in responsibility of Assalaam female students in
Senior High school toward saturation in learning activity. It formulated to
several problems that will be discussed by people one by one among them:
1. How the importance learning level in Assalaam Senior High School ?
2. How is the saturation level in Assalaam sanior Senior High School?
3. What are the causes of saturation of Assalaam female students of Senior
High

school in following learning activity?

4. What is the influence of the saturation in their learning activity?

D. Limitation of problem
Considering its minimum of knowledge and ability of writer in making
masterpiece, in this case writer gives limitation of problem both of from object
of the research, will limit on the scoop of female student of Senior High school
in Assalaam Islamic boarding school started from first grade until third grade.
The second limitation is the research problem. It will be limited as
follows:
1. The influence of saturation in Senior High School of Assalaam Islamic
Boarding School.
2. The causes of saturation in learning activity.

E. Method of Writing
To help the writing in finishing this paper the writer uses some
methodologies in writing. They are as follows:
1. Questionnaire

questioner and other for the purpose of gathering information from


respondents accessed on Augusts November 2012 the writer give some
representative of students Senior High School in Assalaam female students.
Questionnaire sheer consist around the responsibility of Senior High School

2. Library research
This method has purpose to find many informations and all materials
from books, magazines, and articles from internet browsing. Then it can
support the writer to solve the problems.
3. Observation
Observe for the through object. From the example is an interview. In this
method, the writers observe the influence of saturation in teaching and
learning activities to Assalaam female students.

F. System of writing
In this paper, the writer needs systematic of writing it help in process of
writing. The system of writing are as follows:
The first chapter is introduction. It contains general background,
purpose of study, formulation of problem, limitation of problem,
methodology of writing, system of writing.
In the second chapter is base of theory. It contains the definition of
learning, the important of learning, The Kind of Education, History of
Assalaam Senior Senior High School, The daily activities in Assalaam
Boarding School, definition of saturation.
The third chapter is study of problem. It contains the saturation level in
Assalam Senior High School, the influence of saturation in learning
activities, the saturation in learning activities, the solution toward the
influence in saturation of female students of Assalam Senior High School.

CHAPTER II
BASE OF THEORY
A. The Definition of Learning
Learning is which a student shaped by intellectual and emotional in
proficiency fundamental. The education is supplies to future and there is nothing
in those when They are kids. But, they grow be adult JJ RESSEAU say
education has several for example art, practice, or the learning presses in the
class by formal education. While the non formal education giving for family, the
environment, or neighborhood. Formal education purposes to build proficiency
science while the non formal education purpose to form a person personality or
characteristics personality. Because, in adjust in environment a self need
characteristics personality person. While in school and learning the person in
charge to be understood in lesson.
The process of education, where is formulated that the process of
education it is a process prosenkontontinu one who started since reduced until
dead. According to mention the education lasts a life time and the education held
in the environment of family, school, and community so lifelong education is the
responsibility of family, community, and government. Where the Indonesia
government made nine years study program and for those who cannot afford to
have been in make free school and fund facility BOS (the operational school) all
aimed to make of all children to get decent education and the children can get a
dream so, as to be useful for the state and religion.

In Indonesia, all residents are obliged to follow the program


has learn basic education for nine years, six years in elementary
school/ Madrasah Ibtidaiyah and three years at Junior High
School/MTS. At present, education in Indonesia is regulated by
Act No. 20 of 2003 on the national education system.
Education in Indonesia is divided into three main lines,
namely formal, non-formal, and informal. Education is also
divided into four levels, namely early childhood, elementary,
middle, and high. Level of education is the educational stages are
defined based on the level of development of the learners, the
goals to be achieved, and the ability that is developed.

Early childhood education


According to Act No. 20 of 2003, article 1-point 14 about
the

of

national

education,

early

childhood

education (PAUD) is a construction effort which is intended


for children from birth up to the age of six years are done
through the awarding of stimulation of education to help
the growth and development of physical and spiritual so
that

have

preparedness

in

entering

more

advanced education.

Basic education is the level of initial education for 9 (nine)


first year of the school children which base the level of
secondary education.

Secondary education
Secondary education is the level of further education of
primary education.

Higher education
Higher education is the level of education after secondary
education

includes

undergraduate

diploma,

education

programs, master's degree and specialis organised by the


College.

B. The Importance of Learning


Education is the most important in life at this century. We stare further so
we should completed to self with education. We should not miss understand
about method to get education, is only formal method. Like come then take a sit,
listen some and also get some appreciation from the past test. Actually, we heard
Long Life Education with can get it from the developing period. When some
change the word, where they live if we take look western countries, they give
the important attention toward developing science, education, and skill. That
why is important thing because this is asset and this is the main thing in compete
with the other.

Today we know there are still many students teach them self to lie and
make this nonsense young generation. Because, this action make young
generation less competent and indirectly make young generation not
independent.
Education is aware force and planed well for create study condition and
learning process for students can active to develop their talent until they have
some power of religious spiritual, self control, personality, intelligence, good
attitude, and also necessary skill for their self, society, nation and country. Have
you study based on the information above? Of course the answer is YES.

C. The Kind of Education

Formal education

Formal education is education which was held in schools in


General. This education pathway has a clear hierarchy of
education, starting from elementary education, secondary
education, to higher education.

Non-formal education.

Non-formal Education at most there at an early age, as well


as primary education, is a landfill, or children's Education Al
Quran, available at every mosque and Sunday school, which is
contained in all the churches. In addition, there is also a wide

range of courses, including courses on music, tutoring and so


on.

Informal education

Informal education is the education of the family and the


environment in the form of independent learning activities
carried out consciously and responsibly.

Preschool

Preschool From birth until the age of 3 years, childhood


Indonesia generally have no access to formal education. From
the age of 3 to 4 or 5 years old, they enter kindergarten.
Education is not compulsory for citizens of Indonesia, aim
anyway was to prepare the student to enter elementary
school. Of the 49,000 kindergartens in Indonesia, 99,35
organized by private parties [1]. The kindergarten period is
usually divided into the ' A-grade ' (or zero) and ' B ' Class (or
zero), each for a period of one year.

Primary school

Primary school children aged 6-11 years of age enter


elementary school or Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI). This level of
education is compulsory for all citizens of Indonesia based on

the national Constitution. Do not like kindergarten that


majority are held private parties, thus most of the elementary
schools organized by the public schools provided by the State
(called ' primary schools ' or ' Madrasah Ibtidaiyah negeri '),
accounting for 93 of the entire elementary school/Madrasah
Ibtidaiyah in Indonesia [2]. The same is the case with the
education system in the United States and Australia, students
must study for six years to complete this step. Some schools
provide an accelerated learning program, where students who
are good performers able to complete primary school for five
years.

Junior High School

Junior High School (MIDDLE SCHOOL) and MTS (MTs) is part


of primary education in Indonesia. After graduating from SD/MI,
students can choose to enter JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL or MTs for
three years on a range of ages 12-14. After three years and
graduated, students can continue their education to the high
school (HIGH SCHOOL), Middle School (CMS), or Madrasah
Aliyah (MA).

In Indonesia, at this level there are three types of school,


namely high school (HIGH SCHOOL), Middle School (CMS), and
Madrasah Aliyah (MA). High school students are prepared to
continue her studies in College, while the students of SMK are
prepared to be able to directly enter the workforce without
proceeding to the next stage of education. Madrasah Aliyah is
basically the same with the high school, but the portion of its
religious curriculum (in this case Islam) is greater than high
school. The number of high schools in Indonesia is a little less
than 9,000 pieces [3].

Higher education

Higher education after graduating from high school or


Madrasah Aliyah, the students were able to enter college.
Higher education in Indonesia is divided into two categories:
public and private. Both are guided by the Ministry of national
education. There are several types of higher education
institutions; for example, universities, high schools, institutes,
colleges, and technical colleges.

D. History of Assalaam Senior Senior High School


Assalam Senior High School is an islamic Education Institution in the
scope of the Islamic Modern Boarding School (PPMI) of Assalaam, under the

Foundation of Islam Koranic Verses Committee (YMPI) Surakarta. Assalaam


Senior High School established on January 4th , 1989.
Now, the status of Assalaam Senior High School is Accredited with
citation A (very good) with the score 92,10 given by The National School
Accreditation Board of Central Java on September 92 th ,2007. In the teaching
learning process, Assalaam Senior High School uses the integrated curriculum,
the combination between National Education Curriculum and Boarding School
curriculum.

The vision of the realization of students that are academically quality oriented,
highly completed and also Islamic and science mastered.
2. Mission of Assalaam Senior High School

Carry out the education process that is quality and technology oriented.

Purpose students to analyze the Islamic and Science research.


3. Objectives of Assalaam Senior High School

Create the students who have modern life on basis of Islamic values.
Make the students able to continue study to the higher education.

E. The Daily Activities in Assalaam


In modern boarding school of Assalaam or all students obtain the
obligate activities for students. The obligate activities are going to masjid, scout,
sport, extraculicular activities, speech, and including learning its self. We must
go to masjid for five times to prayer. And then after subuh and magrib we must
read the holly qur'an and memorize it. Every Thursday they get scout activities.
Wednesday and Monday are they have speech, where we must show the
capability in deliver a speech and we can deliver a speech in front of the public.
Every Tuesday and Saturday the students have to follow the extraculicular

activities. For example: volley ball, basket ball, taekwondo, badminton, etc. And
the others activities such as: sewing, Drama Theater, reading holly Quran etc.
including learning begin for seven oclock at arrive twelve past forty. In
a day the students have 4-5 lesson where consist of boarding school lesson
example: arabic language, tarikh, akhlak, fiqih, aqidah, etc. And general lesson:
biology, chemistry, physic, mathematic, etc. After that we can to consent the
afternoon activities.
This is all activities from morning up to go to bed and this activities its very
busy and compact and we need healthy condition and strong body to cover all
activities.

F. Definition of Saturation
1. The act of saturating or the process of being saturated.
2. (physics) the condition in which, after a
sufficient increase in a causal force, no further increase in
the resultant effect is possible; e.g. the state of
a ferromagnetic material that cannot be
further magnetized.
3. (chemistry) the state of a saturated solution.
4. (chemistry) the state of an organic compound that has
no double or triple bonds.

5. (meteorology) the state of the atmosphere when it is


saturated with water vapour; 100% humidity.
6. The intensity or vividness of a colour.

primarily in heavy metal music.
Based on daily activities we have and it cant save our mind whereas
based on theory cognitive, whatever we have done and we have learned. As long
as our mind system manage it in good way, everything will be saved in
subsystem permanent mind. But, the real fact we have felt opposite with this
theory. Often happen, what we learned with diligent exactly (precisely) it is very
difficult keep in mind to remember it and easy to forget. The other way, many
experiences and learn, we know will be easy to remember in our mind.
Second certain student feel boring and lazy in learning. This problem
even happen if some student to capability drop in other self and can not catch
the lesson or materials from teacher or students are difficult to memorize tahfidz
and etc. The saturation is effect, where saturation one of effect for lazy, boring,
tired, and many memory in our mind that we accept.

But, tired very influential in saturation level. Tired in physical or tired in


thought. Where will make forgetting and saturation in learning. Forgetting
happen because, some fact this is:
Some student will get experience proactive when the last material
already to save in permanent subsystem disturb entering the new material. This
event will get if some student study carefully for this material and this material
same with the last material controllable with short considerate. In this trouble
the new material will be difficult to remember.
Over happen, some student will get experience interference retroactive
when the material bring kognitife and interference through remember agent the
last material. Because, the last material will be difficult to remember and easy
to forget.
The saturation will do if we feel tired, bored and many impact causes
make saturation.

CHAPTER III
THE STUDY OF PROBLEM
A. The Importance of Learning
Based on data that already collected by the writer to know the awareness
level of female sudents senior high school through the importance of learning in,
showed that 100% of female students senior high school aware and understand
about study program mean. While every students awake that we need knowledge
and experience to live. It means that the learning in senior high school has
already succeed to exist the importance of learning between the students and the
author.
The increasing knowledge of learning in study language senior high
school will be more get motivating and more effort in study if balanced with
students willing and effort and learning activity.

Actually, the awarenes level in learning is more high but, sometims some
student feel bored and tired in learning where based on data that all students
ever feel saturation in learning

Senior High School 100% ever feel saturation in learning.

C. Causes of saturation of Assalaam female students of Senior High


school in following learning activities
The factor of saturation in learning is :
A. The Effect of Environment Condition
The saturation we can find if the condition not carry as not condusive in
learning. 20% students say that the condition of environment is not the effect of
the saturation in learning. However 80% for students say that the condition of
environment is the effect of saturation. For the exemple :

The condition of class is not condusive because of the students being
passive and lazy to follow the lesson so, it makes saturation. The effect for
saturation in class is students do not pay attention the lesson taught by teacher .
With sleep, chatting, do some other wich not interconnected with the lesson. The

question and students cannot understand, whail the teacher give to them.

Condition in doormitory
The students opinion that the condition is the one of the cause of the
saturation. Where we live and stay is the cause of the saturation. Because, if
someone needs the consentration to learn, the conditon is so importance. Where
we must get the condusive condition but, if the condition is very annoying we
can not get the maximal learn.
B. Under-Challenged
Bright students who dont need a lot of instruction to master a skill or
start out ahead of the rest of the class often complain of being bored at school.
What theyre really telling you is they are not being challenged by the work in
the classroom.
Students who are under challenged arent always gifted there are specific
qualifications for that but they are typically very capable and very smart.
Surprisingly, these children dont always present that way. In fact many underchallenged students are sloppy in their work, dont study much (though still get
good grades) and tend to zoom right through their work without much in the
way of editing or rechecking.
C. Low -Motivated
Under-motivated students also complain of being bored in school, but not
because they already know whats being taught. This complaint is different.
Often school is boring is paired with thats why I dont do the work or
thats why I dont pay attention.

An under-motivated child is not the same as a lazy child. In some cases,


the lack of motivation is tied in to a feeling that what hes learning isnt
personally important, that the learning process has no meaning for him and his
life. In other situations, a lack of motivation can be the sign of an underlying
issue, such as children depression.

teacher may be bored in school because they feel very isolated. If your child

bored. What hes really experiencing is the need for some encouragement that
hes a part of the classroom community.

Not all students have the skills they need to be successful in the classroom.

because he hasnt been taught in a way thats most conducive to his learning
style is really not of importance.
If a child is saying hes bored because he doesnt know how to study for
tests, create a plan for a long term project or write a paragraph, what he really
means is I dont know how to do this, so I dont even want to try.

D. The Influence of Saturation in Learning


Of the problems is already the author discussed her own
saturation, causing much impact in learning such as:
Disciple of can not receive lessons with a maximum, lazy
in learning, learn to be not upbeat, less confident and others.
Students argue that Burnout is very influential in daily
activities especially during the learning. Saturated taste alone
will make the mood ,inside declined to do daily activity.

saturation instinct or suggestion and saturation alone is


said to be a negative word in the dictionary to eliminate our
lives. Because the word saturated it self became a suggestion
that we often believe. Where is the moment we feel saturated,
bored, tired we'll unconsciously we also infuse the flavors
saturate it in us.
It Indirectly we also instill in ourselves we are lazy and we
automatically feel our brains can not received a learning and
new material that had been taught it had become a problem in
us, how to get rid of saturated flavor among preformance in
ourselves and in what sense can it be saturated in there live we
can lost it.
Many ways to get rid of saturated inside of us. As the data
that has been collected in Senior High School students of
Assalam Bording School in several ways:
1. refreshing
Some activities to make our minds become more refresh,
such as:

Listening to music:
Get his master can be done with anything that makes our minds
become more fresh and makes mood back nice and more
excited as was doing the things we love.

Shared Learning:
learning together aims so that students can exchange opinions
with each other and help each other out when we do not
understand in a lesson. This activity is done by relaxing its aim
to reduce saturated flavor that arise when we are far too
serious in learning.

Sleep:
sleeping we can rest ourselves has been a day of activities so
that when we wake up we feel refresh. Only with laid off and
closed my eyes can already make the eyes and our agency
break. So that we don't feel tired because if we feel tired
saturation will happen.

Take a round:
We can see something such beautiful scenery around the Green
and calm down ourselves including refreshing the eye of our
busy activities.

Read books:
reading positive words can also be uplifting in learning.

Draw or write:
can also hone our right brain, and writing fatigue and burnout
that we experience makes our burden is reduced and make our
minds of relief.

Learning at night:
Every students can remember the material and exercise the material already in
learning . becausa the students can know and understand what the teacher mind.
