Jammu and
Kashmir is a state in northern India. It is located mostly in the Himalayan Mountains,
and shares a border with the states of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab to the south.
Kashmir valley is famous for its beautiful mountainous landscape and Jammu's s
famous for numerous shrines and holy temples which attract tens of thousands of
Hindu pilgrims every year. Enriched with ancient culture and language, Sanskrit
language has got its own place and importance in shaping the life of individual and
society by teaching morality of living life in a peaceful and brotherly manner.
Sanskrit language is known as mother of all languages. Every language found its
root in Sanskrit language and gets modified in various form and literature over
times. . Founder of the Jammu and Kashmir State, Maharaja Gulab Singh and their
successor promoted has a great love and passion for Sanskrit Language and work
for its development and promotion. J&K given birth to many Sanskrit scholars like
Kalhana, Bilhana who laid their whole life for the Sanskrit language. Moreover
Kalidas and other eminent poet and spiritual found root in Jammu and Kashmir.
Getting inspiration from these eminent scholars and their works in the development
and promotion of Sanskrit language, young generation has also started working
actively in the field of promotion of Sanskrit language to make it as a modern art of
communication. Following the foot step of all the eminent scholars and teachers, a
young scholar Mahant Rohit Shastri decided to work his whole life for the
development of Sanskrit scholars. He was born on 7th June 1987. He has got his
early education in a small village school. Then he get inspired from the religious and
spiritual life of saints and decided to get further education in Sanskrit language. He
joins Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan (Deemed University) under M HRD, Govt.of India
Shri Ranbir campus Jammu in 2001. Then he finally gets phalit Jyotish acharya (M A)
in 2010 with 1st division. He was the first student who was awarded as best student
award by vice chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan. He was selected as a
Liberian in R.S.S (D.U) Shri Ranbir Campus Jammu in 2011 as a contractual for one
year. Mahant Rohit shastri is the editor of 2 religious books, 2 ISSN numbered
magazine, 4 panchang calendars and sub editor of Issn _Shri Raghvainder
panchang I of Jammu. Mahant
Rohit Shastri founded his own trust namely SHRI KAILAKH JYOTISH AVIM VEDIC
SANSTHAN TRUST (REGD.) and started working for the development and promotion
of Sanskrit language under this trust. He was Mahant of a holly shrine temple bawa
kailakh dev situated at Raipur domana. He got association with many communities
like Seth Brahman , mahajan ,Nargotra, rajputana,Muslim and many other
communities. He has raised his voice against the exploitation of Sanskrit language
from to time and work for the development of Sanskrit language. His present works
include the demand of special quota for the Sanskrit scholars in education and
carrier opportunities so that the negligence of Sanskrit language ends in
comparison with other streams of learning. He demanded teaching assistant ship
and other scholarship scheme for the Sanskrit scholars. He also demanded to make
Sanskrit language compulsory in schools from 6th standard onward, so that the

coming generation become part of this rich cultural heritage and preserve this rich
heritage in compliance with modern day of living. He also appeals the parents to
educate their children?s about the Sanskrit language and come forward for its
promotion and development by encouraging their young ones to study and adopt
Sanskrit language as a learning and carrier option. He has also raise voice to set up
a separate ministry for the development of Sanskrit language in state and center
government, so that the ministry looks out for the steps taken in the development
of this ancient rich language. Moreover Mahant Rohit Shastri also demanded to set
up a full-fledged central Sanskrit university in Kashmir as it is a birth place of many
eminent Sanskrit scholars and poets.
Mahant Rohit shastri works and demand voice are being published in all the daily
newspaper and magazines. He was a great Jyotish acharya and a prominent
astrologer whose work has helped many times to resolve the issue pertaining to
grah dasha and other religious issues. He has meet with various dignitaries of
center and state government like our honorable Hrd minister smriti irani, state MP
and Mla?s and many other administrative dignirites of state to raise the issues of
people before government. He has been honored by our honorable J&K governor
shri N N vohra for his various works and achievement in the field of sanskrit
language.
Presently he has been employed in a government job at some higher position to
help the people os state but beside this he has not stopped his work and moment
and on regular basis and has become motivation for many youth to present Sanskrit
language in modern day form and to make it as a modern mean of
communication......................
