Well Test and Completion Analysis

Expert Analysis of Your Well Test Data

A Well Test Analysis Report can save you time and money
by identifying opportunities to improve well performance.
Halliburton engineers, drawing on their extensive
experience, generate analysis reports using the most
advanced pressure-transient analysis and well evaluation
methods available. Well test and completion data can help
you get a more accurate reservoir description. In addition,
reports often include recommended techniques for well
performance improvement.

Various well test analyses provide calculations for initial

reservoir pressure (pi), permeability thickness (kh), and skin
(S). Additionally, wellbore perforated length (Hw), distance
of horizontal wellbore to bottom of formation (Zw), and
ratio of vertical to radial permeability (kz/kr) are calculated
for horizontal wells. The dual porosity flow model provides
values for l and w. Distances to boundaries and the
boundary type (no-flow, constant pressure, or leaky) can be
provided with most models.

Slug, Shoot & Pull, or Drillstem Test

After the compatibilities of the fluid property, rate, and

pressure data are verified, well test analysis is performed
using the most advanced reservoir models. The completions
can be horizontal, deviated, or vertical wellbores.
The reservoir flow can be through dual-porosity, composite,
layered, or homogeneous rocks. Results reported in a
Halliburton Well Test and Completions Analysis Report take
into account changing well storage, limited wellbore entry,
tidal, and turbulent flow effects.

Experienced Halliburton engineers will provide you with the

best well test and completion analysis in the industry.
In addition, they will recommend cost-effective solutions
using Halliburtons products and services to help maximize
your asset value.

Work with Geoscientists to Provide

Best Analysis Results
Permanent-gauge analysis (batch or real time) is also
included. This service is becoming more popular because of
increased SmartWell completions, the number of
permanent gauges being placed in wellbores, and the
analysis software that accounts for the material balance
during reservoir depletion.

Reliable geologic data is critical for providing a unique

interpretation of the reservoir. However, if the geologic or
interpreted geophysical data is limited, several different
reservoir models may match the pressure-rate response
equally. By working with your geoscientist who knows the
reservoir, you can reduce the number of matched models to
arrive at the best reservoir description.

Fast Turnaround at Reasonable Costs

Real Time or Batch Analysis

Real time well testing operations ensure fast turnaround

times. But even if you have old tests that need to be
analyzed, Halliburton will provide you with an Analysis
Report quickly and at a reasonable cost.

Real time well test analysis complements Halliburton Real

Time Operations (RTO). Satellite dishes at the wellsite
transmit the well test data to the Halliburton INSITE
Server. The well test is analyzed in real time by an
experienced Halliburton engineer who can make the data
available to the entire asset team via a protected website.
Team members can participate without having to travel to
the wellsite.

Well Improvement Recommendations

Consider the Total System Analysis
Halliburtons engineers act as detectives to interpret your
data and provide you with the best solution for your total
system. Inflow and outflow curves are calculated to match
the observed pressure/rate response of the well, using the
completion and perforating equipment specified. The curves
show the effects of various parameters on well performance.
Well performance improvement recommendations consider
the total system.
