John 19:28-30

The Death of Jesus

28 Later,

knowing that everything had now been

finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled,

Jesus said, I am thirsty. 29 A jar of wine vinegar
was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the
sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it
to Jesus lips. 30 When he had received the drink,
Jesus said, It is finished. With that, he bowed
his head and gave up his spirit.

Good Tidings and Good news found in no

other but the Gospel of Jesus Christ and in
Him we are redeemed by his mercy and
grace. We have been saved by his grace
for those who are willing to hear the call
cast down their pride and repent for their
sins, believing on the Son of God Jesus
Christ whom God the Father has made
Heir of all things, through Him and He
alone are we fulfilled, we have life
through Christ we have conquered death
and death cannot touch us, we are New
Creation, New People from a New
Kingdom where Christ Reigns. How many
will hear the call of God, the wonderful
Gospel and repent of their sins.

John 19:31-37 Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special
Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the
Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. 32 The
soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with
Jesus, and then those of the other.33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was
already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus side
with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. 35 The man who saw it has given
testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that
you also may believe.

36 These

things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled:

Not one of his bones will be broken,37 and, as another scripture says, They will look
on the one they have pierced

The fact that Christ died in your place for all your iniquities and sins is good news, Jesus
Christ death was not vain but it was to purchase you back and reconcile you back to a
holy God by his Blood have you been redeemed, saved and brought back from the dead,
now you can have life in the Name of Jesus Christ.
As there say do not let a good opportunity go to waste but I say do not let the death of
Jesus be in vain its as if Jesus the Son of God worked for nothing, died for nothing and
bled for nothing if you continue in your sins of sexual immorality, pornography,

homosexuality, greed, corruptness and keep breaking the the command, decrees and laws
of God.
And if you are ready to answer the call of God to repentance, God is happy to welcome
you back into His Kingdom
Isaiah 30:15-This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: In
repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you
would have none of it.
Hosea 14:1 [ Repentance to Bring Blessing ] Return, Israel, to the LORD your God. Your
sins have been your downfall!
Matthew 3:8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
2 Corinthians 7:9-yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because
your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so
were not harmed in any way by us.
2 Corinthians 7:10
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow
brings death

For the non-believer, repentance can be confusing regarding salvation and what happens when

they come to Christ.

For the Christian, it can be confusing regarding sanctification and how they react to sin now that
they know Christ. Therefore, it affects us on a personal level in our Christian life and in our
evangelism."

Recognition of Sin
"For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against You, You only,
have I sinned and done what is evil in Your sight" (Psalm 51:3-4).
When you realize you are a sinner and you see your need for a Savior, you'll then come to
the point of recognizing your sin.
This is to confess your sin to God and ask for forgiveness. To recognize and confess your
sin is to do what David did in Psalm 51: admit that you sinned against God and agree
with Him that you are guilty.
In addition to recognizing your sin, you are to also recognize the remedy for it the
cross of Jesus Christ.

Remorse for Sin

"As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into
repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us. For godly
grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief
produces death"
(2 Corinthians 7:9-10). In repentance, Paul says that godly grief should occur. To have
godly grief is to have remorse for sin, which is to show deep sorrow and regret over
sinning against God.
When this occurs, you will be "grieved into repenting." And because it is a godly grief
a grief that doesn't just acknowledge wrongdoing, but also admits crime and offense
against God it produces repentance that leads to salvation, for it leads to a confession of
sin and an acceptance of the gospel.
Remorse for sin is sour, but it leads to the sweetness of the gospel.
"Till sin be bitter, Christ will not be sweet." Thomas Watson

Resentment of Sin
"O you who love the Lord, hate evil!" (Psalm 97:10a).
The reproach of sin creates a resentment of sin. This is a righteous reaction to the
wickedness of sin and its negative effects. True hatred for sin in repentance is a sure sign
that godly grief has occurred, for the natural person does not hate sin, but loves it.
Some may hate certain sins, but those who repent hate their own sin because they see
what their sin did to the Savior and what it does to them. In order to love the Lord, you
must first loathe your sin. The hatred of sin is found in loving the Savior.
"Look to the cross, and hate your sin, for sin nailed your Well Beloved to the tree. Look
up to the cross, and you will kill sin, for the strength of Jesus' love will make you strong
to put down your tendencies to sin." Charles Spurgeon

Rejoicing over Forgiven Sin

"Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to
God through Jesus Christ our Lord!" (Romans 7:24-25).

Prayer of Repentance for the Sinner wanting to Repent today

Psalm 51
Repeat this prayer with Genuine Heart, Let the Lord Know you are ready to be Saved
Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash

away all my iniquity

and cleanse me from my sin.

For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
4 Against

you, you only, have I sinned

and done what is evil in your sight;

so you are right in your verdict
and justified when you judge.
5 Surely

I was sinful at birth,

sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

6 Yet

you desired faithfulness even in the womb;

you taught me wisdom in that secret place.

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Let

me hear joy and gladness;

let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

9 Hide

your face from my sins

and blot out all my iniquity.

10 Create

in me a pure heart, O God,

and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

11 Do

not cast me from your presence

or take your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore

to me the joy of your salvation

and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

13 Then

I will teach transgressors your ways,

so that sinners will turn back to you.

14 Deliver

me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,

you who are God my Savior,

and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.

15 Open

my lips, Lord,

and my mouth will declare your praise.

16 You

do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;

you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.

17 My

sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;

a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise.
