Mission
To recognize and elevate high school high achievers and provide them and
their families with the resources to successfully transition to college.
Virtual mentoring can take place via Skype, email, phone calls,
and/or text messaging
Monthly Topics
The program is a 4-month long cycle that begins in September and ends in
December.
Each month you and your mentee will be introduced to a new topic.
To help guide you through the month, we will provide some question prompts
to spark conversation with your mentee
Monthly Topics
Mentors and mentees get to know one another and establish ground rules
Mentees will learn expectations of being a college student and how to adjust to college life.
During this month mentors will guide and inform mentees about their major.
Mentors will share with mentees some of the viable resources that can be used on campus to help
achieve academic success and have a well-rounded college experience through their student
involvement.
Mentors will describe the life of being a college student and how they began to adjust to becoming
independent.
Explore different ways mentees can use the internet besides for the use of social media and leisure
usage.
To fully complete the program you will have to log your end of
the month activities.
Or your mentee wants to attend the school your at! They are
eager to know all the information a guided tour wont give them
about your university
Write down the question your mentee asks and be sure to have
the answer for them by the next session
Always be honest!
