COURSE DESCRIPTION
COURSE BENEFIT
Immunochemistry is a field of study
which deals with the chemical aspects
of the immunology and the immune
systems. Immunology itself is one of the
relatively new branch of medical
sciences. Started by the works of
Edward Jenner (1796) whose scientific
experiments
had
elucidated
the
potential of vaccinia (cowpox) to protect
human from smallpox, a fatal disease at
that time. Subsequently, it was not
another two centuries before the
concept of immunization accepted by
the world. Along with the development
of health sciences, it is obvious how
important is the role played by immune
sistems in the protection of humankind
from various disease both infectious and
noninfectious ones. Meanwhilst, there
are many concepts of immune systen
have been utilize as tools for scientific
researches, mainly due to its high
specificity.
The specificity of the
immune system is used to identify
proteins or other biological substances.
Thus, this course is offered as major
course, espcially to those who are
interested in the medical biochemistry/
biomedical
research.

of
COURSE OBJECTIVE
After completing the course, students
will be able to explain the important
aspects
in
immune
response,
particularly those that are associated
with imunochemistry techniques and its
applications in biochemical research.
EVALUATIONS
Study progress evaluation will be
carried out twice by the midterm- and
final term tests. The test will be
conducted
using
active/descriptive
written essays. The subjects to be
evaluate are the following topics:
Midterm: Course topics Sept 7 Oct
19 2015
Final: Course topics Nov 9 Dec 21,
2015
LEARNING STRATEGY
Lectures will be conducted in active
learning approach using the problembased learning method. Teaching media
to be used will be LCD, and whiteboard.
As for the problem-based learning, this
method uses a problem as initial step to
obtain and built a knowledge. The
problem will be given in such a way that
the student can determine which
information need to be sought before

TUGAS-TUGAS
1. Setiap
bacaan perkuliahan
sebagaimana
tercantum
pada
jadwal
perkuliahan
harus sudah dibaca sebelum
mengikuti perkuliahan.
2. Dalam metode pembelajaran
secara
berkolaborasi,
mahasiswa
akan
belajar
dalam kelompok (4-6 orang)
yang
disebut
Focus
Group(FG) dan Home Group
(HG) yang susunan dan
jumlah
anggotanya
ditentukan oleh dosen dan
masing-masing dipimpin oleh
seorang ketua kelompok.
Teknis pelaksanaannya:lihat
petunjuk teknis metode CL
3. Proses
belajar
dengan
metode PBL dilakukan dalam
beberapa langkah berurutan,
yaitu: diskusi kelompok I,
tugas mandiri, dan diskusi
kelompok II. Tahapan ini
dapat diulang kembali bila
timbul
masalah
atau
pertanyaan
baru
dari
kegiatan yang terdahulu.
Untuk pelaksanaannya: lihat
petunjuk teknis metode PBL.
5. Setiap
mahasiswa
harus
membawa/
menyediakan
bahan diskusi yang relevan
minimal 2 macam pustaka: a)
acuan dari dosen, dan b)
acuan lainnya yang berbeda
untuk
tiap
mahasiswa
(sumber: ruang baca BIK,
perpustakaan FMIPA, LSI,
internet)dan telah dibaca
sebelum diskusi.
6. Pada
akhir
diskusi
(FG&PBL), tiap kelompok
akan mengumpulkan hasil
diskusi
(dalam
tulisan
tangan yang terbaca) berupa
butir-butir
penting
dari
diskusi
kelompok
dan
menilai
partisipasi
dan
kontribusi
tiap
peserta
diskusi (peer assessment)
secara
individual
dan
seobyektif mungkin.
7. Peer
assessment
juga
dilakukan untuk pembuatan
makalah
dan
untuk
presentasi (persiapan dan
pelaksanaan).
8. Mahasiswa
wajib
mengerjakan
soal-soal
latihan yang diberikan oleh
pengajar/ pengelola mata
kuliah.
9. Evaluasi
hasil
belajar
dilakukan secara kelompok
melalui pembuatan makalah
dan presentasi serta secara
individual
melalui
ujian
tengah semester (UTS) dan
ujian akhir semester (UAS).
UTS mau pun UAS dapat
menggunakan bentuk pilihan
ganda mau pun tes uraian
(esai). Adapun materi yang
akan
dievaluasi
adalah
sebagai berikut:
UTS: Materi 9 Sept - 21 Okt
2013
UAS: Materi 11 Nov 23
