PROFILE

DURAPLAST LTD. is located on plots

10, 11 and 12 Dadeban Road, North
Industrial Area, Accra, Ghana in
West Africa. The company started
operations in November 1969 to produce
unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride (uPVC)
pipes of various sizes.
The company has over the years progressed
to become a leader in the pipe industry in
West Africa and part of Central Africa.
It has increased its range of products to include PVC fittings , High Density
Polyethylene pipes (HDPE) and Duraflex. The products are widely used in potable
water supply and distribution, electrical installation, telecommunication, irrigation,
bore-hole drilling, sewerage and drainage systems among others.
The company employs the latest technologies in the extrusion and injection molding
industries and provides adequate training to its staff to cope with the changes.
Our team of experts provides technical advices to our client to the correct application
of DURAPLAST products. The Quality Management System of the company is
certified to ISO 9001:2000. The company has capacity and expertise to produce pipes
and fittings to meet international standards like British
Standards (BS), International Organization for Standardization
(ISO) and individual requests . These products also conform
to Ghana Standard Boards specifications for pipes
(such as GS 217:1999).

The importance of water in the socio-economic development of

the world in general and Ghana in particular cannot be
over-emphasized. Much as the quality of supply channels of water
to homes and industries is paramount, it is equally essential to
pay attention to the good and acceptable disposal of waste water
through a well laid network of sewerage systems. In both
instances the role of unplastizised Polyvinyl Chloride (uPVC) and
fittings is most crucial.
This brochure is a useful literature for engineers and contractors
involved in the design, construction and installation of water
systems; mains, distribution, sewerage and bore-holes. It is also a
welcome aid to engineers responsible for the selection of uPVC
pipes for electrical insulation and telecommunication ducting.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS OF

uPVC PIPES

TRANSPORT

Below are some of the several benefits and advantages in using uPVC pipes.
1. Light weight
uPVC pipes are relatively low in weight; weights only 1/6 of steel pipes and 2/3 of
cement pipes. They are therefore easier to handle, install and transport at a minimal
cost.
2. High Resistance to corrosion and the weather
uPVC does not react to most common chemicals. It is also not affected by sunlight,
wind or rain. It is therefore one of the preferred means for transporting potable
water and other chemicals.
3. Uninflammable (fire proof)
Hard uPVC pipes are not combustible or flammable, thus fire cannot travel along
uPVC pipes. For this reason, uPVC pipes can hardly catch fire when used for
ducting electrical and telecommunication cables.
All DURAPLAST Products can be delivered throughout the country and also exported.

uPVC has very low electrical conductivity. They are therefore suitable for ducting
electrical and telecommunication cables.
