ACTIVE AND PASSIVE VOICE

In addition to showing time by their tense, most verbs can

show whether the subject is performing the action on having the action performed on
this quality of a verb is called voice.
*Voice is the form of a verb that shows whether the subject is
performing the action.
*A verb is active if its subject performs the action.
*A verb is passive if its action is performed upon subject.
Ex. of passive voice:
1. A new typewriter was bought by Ben.
2. My sister was drives to school.
3. The movie was seen by our whole family.
4. The clarinet was delivered by Billy.
5. Mr. Romulo was given the award yesterday by a city official.
6. All four of these symphonies were composed by Brahms.
7. The letters was obviously signed by a stranger.
8. The airconditioner was delivered later in that day.
9. The tree was climbed by the boy.
10. The fight was started by Roy.
11. The book was read by Jane.
12. The newspaper was sold by Mr. Santos.
