As a Direct Sales and Client Service Specialist with TheChiMachine.com, I was trained in product
knowledge and have a complete understanding of the benefits of these products as well as an understanding of the sales aspects of the company. I have dealt with clients by Internet, phone and in person, aiding
them with pre-purchase questions regarding the products as well as with post-purchase support and service. I have been direct support to the company during trade shows, aiding in set up and break down of
the show as well as one on one dealing with potential clients while presenting the products that the company has to offer. As a Residential Counselor for NFIs Shelburne House, I was trained in the style of the Normative Community Approach of therapeutically counseling severely mental and emotionally challenged teenage boys
in a residential setting. I have been formally trained in critical incident debriefing, three-person restraint
and facilitating group processing. I have also had first hand training and experience in participation with
family therapy for families dealing with fostering, adoption and parenting of youth who have suffered
from abuse as well as other mental and emotional challenges. My experience at the Shelburne House has
enabled me to practice and thoroughly understand the therapeutic process that children and families go
through while in treatment for serious life issues. I was quickly promoted from a Residential Counselor to
a more challenging position as a Clinical Case Manager.
As a Clinical Case Manager for the Northeastern Family Institutes Community Based Services Program I
was trained in Dialectical Behavioral Theory to assist clients with mindfulness and ways of dealing with
emotional reactions to stress and trauma. In my daily work, I developed individual plans of care, developed and coordinated clinical treatment teams for clients, facilitated weekly home visits and tracked and
assisted with emotional and behavioral progress of the clients. A large part of my responsibilities was to
manage and integrate the client environment to achieve the best results. The scope of this effort included
the client in their home as well as in their community by keeping in constant communication with the
clients family as well as teachers, doctors, their mental health team and other appropriate members in the
clients community. Close attention to documentation as well as organization, consistent verbal communication was helpful in keeping track of the clients needs. As a clinical case manager I was able to further
develop my skills in organization as well as dealing with the many dynamics of a position that helps families with special needs.

As a Police Officer and Dispatcher/911 Operator for the Shelburne Police Department, I had the
opportunity of gaining invaluable skills to assist me in dealing with many different individuals. I dealt
with all walks of life as well as a vast number of different personalities, and learned effective ways of
adapting and associating with many people. I was trained in all police related aspects at the Vermont
Police Academy, and furthered my training at the Vermont 911 Headquarters in Montpelier as well as at
the Criminal Justice Department in Waterbury. I also completed hands on training on the job as a patrol
officer. The skills that I acquired while working in this job are some that will transcend into my future
career, and enable me to continue working effectively with the people that I serve.

Human Resource Manager, Palmetto Tire Service; Florence, South Carolina 11/20004/2001
As the Human Resource Manager for Palmetto Tire Service, I have gained a strong working knowledge of
the skills necessary for management in the Human Resource field. While at Palmetto Tire, I earned
certification in the ADP payroll system, as well as supervisor training in drug and alcohol abuse. I had the
full responsibility of all payroll functions, maintaining complete personnel files that comply with all
federal regulations, and maintenance of all computer-based programs. Management of all employee
benefits as well as cobra compliance was a part of my responsibilities. I also implemented a new program
for new hire training along with a pre-employment and random drug testing program that involves hair
testing and CDL/DOT compliance. The skills that I have learned as a Human Resource Manager have
been invaluable to my career, and have proved to be enjoyable as well.
