Power

Power is the capacity of a person, team, or organization to influence others. From this movie,

Lesson learned

There are a lot of moral valued and lesson learned that we get in this movie. Firstly is honor. A
person who lives with honor does not allow fear to get in the way of doing what needs to be
done. For example, all 47 ronin in this story asked and begged Shogun to die which commit
suicide in honorable ways after take revenge to Lord Kira. There is no fear in themselves because
they know they will die in honorable ways beside their Lord Asano.
Second is loyalty. As we know, loyalty towards the leader is part of Japanese cultures. The depth
of loyalty honorable men can give knows no bounds. But it is earned not with big words but
8

through acts that sometimes hardly create ripples at the onset. In this movie, all the people was
really obey to the Shogun which also known as a king. Every order from the Shogun they follow.
Moreover, all the 47 ronin also have a depth loyalty to Lord Asano even though he already died.
They are willing to sacrifice their life to avenge Lord Asano death.
Next is courage. True courage is not about the confidence of having the skills to fight. Its about
moving forward despite the distinct possibility of failing. Its like willingly going into a fight
with one foot hovering near the edge of the deepest pit of immeasurable loss or grief. We can
follow their spirit and courage in our daily life and take it as a life lessons.
Besides, patience is one of the moral valued that we can learn in 47 Ronins movie. As whats
been often said, all things happen in their own time. Even justice sometimes has to wait before it
can be extracted. To suffer injustice with patience is never easy. Oishi and his team need to wait
for a long period to take revenge on Lord Kira. They are really patient in organizing strategies
and suitable time to take action.
Lastly is a good teamwork. All the ronin shows a good teamwork even though at first they have a
lot of conflict between them but they manage to overcome it slowly. They tried to discard uneasy
feelings and change the behavior in order to achieve the goals. Due to good teamwork, they
success to get into Lord Kira palace and fight with enemy.

5.0

Conclusion

In conclusion, this movie can be viewed by 13 years old and above with a guidance from parents.
We can take a lot of lesson through 47 Ronin story which we can apply it in our daily life
especially in an organization such as team dynamic. It is important to have synergy between
team members to create harmonize among them.
Moreover, we also can gain knowledge through this movie which shows us about Japanese
culture since this story is based on their historical tale. Intentionally, we also know that Japanese
9

people are really loyal towards their leader and willing to do anything for the sake of the team.
This is an important element that people in organization should apply it in the work place or even
in a group. But loyalty should have a boarder, if leader order to do something wrong we should
know how to resist it brilliantly.
We can conclude that not all movies are just for entertainment purposes only, but there are a lot
of good values that we can take inside the movie if we watch and relate it in our studies
especially. For instance, it will lead us to be more concern and easy to catch up topics in our
subject like Organizational Behavior by relating it with our surroundings.
