Shelf (Dewey) Numbers
Browse the SHELVES (Bay 02 to 16) at the following numbers for books available for
loan. Longer numbers represent more specific subjects.
Please note that books about artists or designers are often grouped together
separately by type of artwork and then country of birth. They may have a shelf number
such as e.g. 741.942 HOC FRI which is a book about David Hockney drawings with
HOC representing the artist, and FRI the author or editor.

Directories and Reference Books
The same Dewey numbers also apply to Reference material. The following
Reference materials are for use within the LRC only and are shelved on the
upper floor in Bay 01, or kept at the LRC counter. Also, use Credo
Reference to search many other reference works electronically, such as
dictionaries and encyclopaedias of art, which include images. This is
available through the LRC website- http://www.credoreference.com
The following books are available in the Reference Section to help you
