5. Write an action research proposal based on various resources taking into acoount the

This coursework evaluates learning outcomes 3, 4 and 5.
COURSEWORK OBJECTIVES:
To enable students to:
1. identify an aspect of their teaching and learning practice to improve in the ESL primary
classroom context.
2. write an action research proposal based on the specific guidelines provided.

PROJECT (100%)

Action Research is an educational research design where educational issues are studied by the
teachers with the aim of providing solutions, some useful insight or new knowledge, so that the
teacher-researchers can improve their pedagogical practice and innovation in education to fulfil
the six aspirations as stipulated in the Malaysian Education Blueprint 2013-2025.
INDIVIDUAL TASK
This task seeks to explore an aspect of your teaching and learning practice that can be
improved in the context of the ESL primary classroom. The aspect identified will form the basis
for the investigation.
a. Reflect on an aspect of your teaching and learning practice that can be improved.
b. Design a plan of action that can be implemented to improve the aspect identified.
c. Plan relevant information gathering and analysis methods that can be implemented
for one research cycle.
d. Write a proposal for the action research to be implemented. The length of your
proposal should be around 3200 words.
Append (if any) pictures, sketches, notes, and other supporting materials.

are needed to discuss your proposal.

6 Plagiarism in any form is prohibited. All borrowed ideas must be acknowledged
and properly cited.
7 Cite the source of the text and any references you used using the APA sixth
edition format. Referencing is part of the assessment.

2.5cm.
