IN 2014/15 DIVERSE VOICES TOURED THE BOROUGH OF WALTHAM FOREST

WITH A PRODUCTION NAMED BEAT IT WHICH WAS DEVISED AS A RESULT
OF THE AIM SEXUALLY HARMFUL BEHAVIOUR TRAINING AND FUNDED BY THE
WALTHAM FOREST SOCIAL INCLUSION TEAM.
The performance and accompanying workshops had the following objectives:
To explore what is healthy and unhealthy in regards to sex, relationships and a young persons development.
To understand the laws specific to them because of their age, surrounding issues raised in the play.
Acknowledging what behaviour could potentially put them at risk
Knowing where to go for help and advice.
To discuss how our ideals of beauty can be shaped by the media and peer pressure.
Identifying attributes that should be held more valuable than physical beauty

The acting and activities were fun and easy to

it had situations that my mates have

comprehend. I learnt not to give in to peer pressure,

as well as what is and isnt acceptable.

I have learnt that it is okay to have

different opinions to what society has.

I really liked the performance because

experienced. From todays sessions

This was very engaging and got the students

Ive taken in a lot of advice and learnt

focused on the topic. Very well organized

things that I shouldnt do, such as

and prepared. - Buxton School

taking inappropriate pictures.

REALLY ENGAGING SESSION THAT DREW OUT THE STUDENTS VALUES ABOUT FUTURE PARTNERS, DELIVERED IN A LIGHT-HEARTED STYLE.
IT WAS VALUABLE TO SPEND TIME WITH MY FORM, WOULD BE NICE TO DO MORE LIKE THIS. AS A RESULT OF THE SESSIONS IT HAS HIGHLIGHTED
THAT AS A SCHOOL WE NEED TO DO MORE WORK ON APPROPRIATE SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS. - NORLINGTON BOYS SCHOOL
