Happy New Year! The Shaw Center and Sumter

Office are kicking off the new year with some amazing upgrades. Wireless Internet access will now be available in
all of our classrooms at the Shaw center. This will allow
students to access e-books and the Internet for an enhanced learning experience. The Sumter Office now has a
computer lab! There are 14 computers in the lab all
equipped with Microsoft Office and printing capabilities.
Students are welcome to use the computers for homework and Saint Leo related tasks. This new lab will also
allow us to offer more on ground computer classes such
as basic computer skills and Computer Information Systems courses. The new lab is pictured to the right.

Higher One Card: What is it?

Dont throw it away (at least not yet)! And heres why:
Saint Leo University uses Higher One, Inc. to process our student refunds. In order to ensure timely delivery of our student refunds we run
an automated process each day that uploads student information to Higher One. The file includes only students with first time registration. This information includes name (first, middle initial, last), student ID number, date of birth, address, gender, last 4 digits of social
security number, phone number and university email address.
The Higher One card is a means for the student to select a refund preference (an option to open a OneAccount, deposit to an existing account the student has such as Bank of America, Chase, etc., or a paper check to be mailed). The student must follow the steps to select
their refund preference and until so, the card is not active. If and only if the student decides to open an OneAccount does the card activate
and become a debit card. The card is not a credit card or a prepaid card. If the student selects their own account or a paper check, the
student can dispose of the card.

Consumer Disclosure Webpage

The Higher Education Act requires schools to disclose specific information to prospective and current students, parents, employees, and the general public. The Consumer Disclosure webpages
are intended to fulfill this regulation by providing
easy access to information on financial aid, cost
of attendance, health requirements, safety information, and much more. There is a wealth of information available to our students and parents
on the Saint Leo University Consumer Disclosure
webpages (www.saintleo.edu/consumerdisclosures). We hope you find these pages helpful.

SALT is a free program offered by Saint Leo University to all students, prospective stu-dents, alumni, and parents. It is designed to empower college students and alumni to confidentially approach, manage, and pay back their student loans while gaining finan-cial skills for life.
In fact, it is full of such great information that over 250 schools current-ly participate in this program (Saint Leo being proudly one of them),
providing services to more than 635,000 active members.
Some of the benefits of using SALT include:
- Finding scholarships to help pay for your college education, potentially saving you hundreds if not thousands of dollars over the life of your
college career
- Comparing borrowing options for various student loans so you know which ones are best for you and your circumstance
- Obtaining one-on-one loan advice from experienced and knowledgeable counselors
- Creating a personalized repayment plan for your student loans so that you dont de-fault on any of your loans and potentially harm your
credit
- Keeping track of all of your student loans in one convenient location so that you know at all times where you stand financially with these
obligations
- Locating internship and job resources to help you successfully complete your degree outside the classroom and start working in your field
of choice.

TA Users

Veteran students are eligible for the VA

Workstudy Program while taking classes. For more information contact the
Shaw Center.

*Currently, students can apply for term start date to 60 days

before term start date; that is changing. With the recent changes
from Air Staff, students will only be able to apply for TA within 7 - 45 days of
term start date.

*If you don't have a TA in the system 7 days prior to term start date, you will not be
able to apply for TA. Education centers WILL NOT be allowed to create a TA for a
student in this case.
*Passing grades for students pursuing undergrad course work will change from
A,B,C or D to just A,B, or C. Students obtaining a D or lower for undergrad level
course work will be required to reimburse.
*TA Procedures
Printed TA forms are no longer required. Be sure that your TA form is completed in the portal
with the correct class and term dates. It must also be digitally signed by you and an education
office representative as well as approved by your supervisor.
All approved TA forms will be pulled from the portal and billed out after the drop/add period.
