CIRCULAR
All the faculty working in affiliated colleges of JNTUK, Kakinada are here by
informed to note the following eligibility criteria to supervise the scholars from the
academic year 2015-16 onwards.
The Supervisor should have Doctoral Degree from a reputed University and put up
minimum one year research experience after acquiring Ph.D. He / She should be a
ratified faculty member by JNTUK, Kakinada and his / her candidature should be
accepted by Departmental Research Committee to supervise a scholar.
If the departments from affiliated colleges of JNTUK, Kakinada are not
recognized as research center, the scholar should have Co-Supervisor from the
Constituent Colleges / Units of the University.
The faculty working in affiliated colleges, but not ratified by this University may
also guide the scholars subjected to his / her approval of candidature from the
Departmental Research Committee.
If the departments of affiliated colleges of JNTUK, Kakinada are recognized as a
research center, the Supervisor working in it with the above qualifications can
guide the candidates as a single supervisor, subjected to his / her approval of
candidature from the Departmental Research Committee.
Supervisors already guiding the candidates from other Universities should seek
their candidature approved a fresh from the Departmental Research Committee to
continue as guide for supervising the candidates.
The above guidelines are applicable for affiliated colleges of JNTUK, Kakinada
and other Universities besides faculty working in IITs / NITs and reputed
(Central / State) research laboratories. These Supervisors should have CoSupervisor from the Constituent Colleges / Units of the University.
The Supervisors who wish to enrol themselves, but not submitted their Curriculum
vitae earlier are hereby informed to register with this University on or before 16th
December, 2015 in the prescribed format (enclosed).

Any Faculty member / Scientist can not supervise for more than 08 Ph.D
candidates as main supervisor at any given point of time.
Maximum of three Ph.D scholars are permitted to register with a Supervisor per
year.
