Please read below for important information to assist with your
transition to JWU
THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU ARRIVE IN PROVIDENCE:
1. Reserve Your Spot
o You have two options to submit your one-time reservation fee:

Pay online

Select Make a one-time payment

2. Pay SEVIS Fee and Make VISA appointment


o Pay your one-time SEVIS fee to the US government
o

Apply for your F-1 student visa

3. Log on to jwuLink
o First time users can create an account by following the steps on: https://newuser.jwu.edu/
o

Please note: You must have your JWU JNUMBER to log in (please refer to your acceptance letter

for your JNUMBER)

4. Submit your travel plans


o Send your travel plans to isa@jwu.edu
o

Use Form 4 in your Accepted Student Guide or submit the following information:

Please Note: JWU provides students up to a 2 night stay at the JWU Radisson
Hotel. Any cost for additional nights would be charged to the student

5. Review Student Health Insurance


o Review information on the Student Health Insurance Plan

6. Pay Tuition and Fees
o Pay your tuition, room and board, and fees

7. Complete your Health Forms


o See your medical doctor and complete all health forms (Form 2) and bring it to the US with you

8. Select On-campus housing (Undergraduate Students Only)


o Please use jwuLink to sign up for housing
9. Submit your English proficiency score (if applicable)
o Send your scores to undergraduate or graduate admissions or bring them with you and submit to

the Admissions Office when you arrive

Shopping trips
(Family and friends may accompany you on apartment searches and shopping trips if space is available.)

Assistance locating off-campus housing and setting up utilities (gas, electric, and phone)
Campus tours
Trips to open bank accounts
Orientation and introduction to Johnson & Wales University
Global Citizenship Program (New students will be matched with a current JWU student to answer
questions and help students adjust to life on campus at JWU)

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS
JWU RADISSON AIRPORT HOTEL
All new students are eligible for up to 2 nights complimentary stay at the JWU Radisson Hotel Airport Providence
during the dates listed above; please note:
- You are responsible to your hotel stay if outside the dates listed above.
- You must pay for any additional nights stay.
- You must provide a credit card number to cover any additional nights or incidental costs
(telephone, meals, etc.) If you do not have a major credit card, you will be asked to sign a
contract assuming financial responsibility.
- Your family and friends must pay for their accommodation costs.
