I.

RATIONALE

In the hopes of forging a strong student and youth network across schools and
communities, the Education College Board in partnership with the University of Nueva
Caceres Student Congress and Naga City Scholars Guild are sponsoring the LEAD Student
Leadership Congress that will be held on January 26, 2015 at the University of Nueva Caceres
Gymnasium, Jaime Hernandez Avenue, Naga City.
The student congress, entitled Link, Engage, Activate, Develop (LEAD): Empowering
Student Leadership, features interactive discussions that will enable the student/youth
leaders to discover avenues for collaboration with great leaders and learning. It stands for:
L -INK with the great leaders and innovative young leaders today;
E-NGAGE with the worthy activities and initiate own innovative deeds;
A-CTIVATE and be a premium mover; and
D-EVELOP skills to inspire and influence other people through leadership.

II.

PROJECT SUMMARY:

This Congress is the first ever Student Leadership Congress in the College of
Education in partnership with the University Student Government, Student Congress and
Naga City Scholars Guild, which seeks to expose the youth especially students in servantleadership.
This endeavor aims to hone and uncover skills and potential from among the new breed
of leaders who will participate. So, the congress will focus on the following topics:

The entire day will be filled with talks and discussions which will provide ample of
inspiration that can serve as guide in facing future leadership challenges.
Lastly, after this congress the students will be challenged on how they will become a
leader on their own. And most probably, on how they will be a part of the innovative young
leaders of this generation.

III.

OBJECTIVES:

This activity aims to:


1. Expose the youth especially students to the experiences of GREAT LEADERS;
2. Orient participants as to the various leadership aspects/attributes;
3. Build a strong and positive impact and deep sense of service among students; and
4. Improve students leadership potentials.
