1.

Project Description:

1.1 Project;
Nowadays there is a rapid movement of building construction activities all around the island.
These constructions mainly focused on residential complexes, shopping malls, high rise
buildings etc..,
For the proposed project includes design and preparing of drawings, specifications, BOQs and
construction and completion of residential apartment complex at Tangalle.
1.2 Scope:
This project comprises construction and completion of three storied building including the
foundation. Floors are utilized for residential apartments.
The salient features of the building are;

Types: Type A and type B


Floor areas;
a. Type A = 800 ft2
b. TYPE B = 1000 ft2
No. of floors = 03 (Ground floor, 1st floor, 2nd floor)

1.3 Building location:
The site location is Labeemawatte, Labeema,Pallikkudawa, Tangalle
1.4. Building Description;
Ground floor, first floor and the second floor are designed mainly for residential purposes. Each
duplex houses comprises of living, dining, bed rooms, pantry, bathroom and a balconies.
Architectural features of all these floors are similar.
Detail architectural drawings are attached herewith.

1.5 Design Criteria


The building is a braced structure. For the structural analysis, computer aided software and
manual calculation will be used.

1. 6. Soil Investigation
The site is located in an area where hard soil exists. Type of the soil is lateritic soil. The bearing
pressure of the soil will be finalized by using two trial pits.
