Instruction for the Following Calculation Sheets

1. Scope
1) This Excel workbook obtains the following work sheets for anchor bolt reinforcing calculation.
STR
: for the pedestal of structure foundation, A.bolt tension and shear.
HE&DRUM
: for the pedestal of horizontal equipment foundation, A.bolt tension and shear.

2. Design Criteria
1) The quantities of tension bar and shear bar are determined according to the A.bolt steel strength
(not concrete breakout strength) calculated in accordance with ACI318-11 Appendix-D.
The tension and shear capacities of anchor bolt shown on project standard drawing
were not used for anchor bolt reinforcing calculation on theses sheets.

3. Additional Sheet "ShearLug"

Mote-A: Maximum two layers of ties are considered to be effective. The required shear bar should be arranged in the top la
Note-B: Tie and cross tie within Dy/2 are considered to be effective, though U-type of tie (Note-C) is better.
