Topic 1: Create a Measuring point (Counter)

OBJECTIVES
After completing this topic, you will be able to Create a Counter
Measuring point.
OVERVIEW/PURPOSE
The main purpose of creating measuring points is to allow for the
creation of preventive maintenance orders based on performance
measures such as number of cycle, hrs. etc.
The procedure for creating a measuring point for an equipment or
functional location includes:
1. Determine the equipment or functional location requiring the
measuring point.
2. Select the appropriate characteristic.
3. Estimate the annual number of counter.
4. Save the measuring point.
BUSINESS APPLICATIONS
The need to create a measuring point is determined by the user and
is based on the need to perform preventive maintenance and/or to
track other measurements on an object such as an equipment or
functional location.
This topic focuses on creating a counter measuring point.

Topic 2: Create a Measuring point (Non-Counter)

OBJECTIVES
After completing this topic, you will be able to Create a Non-Counter
Measuring point.
OVERVIEW/PURPOSE
The main purpose of creating a non-counter measuring points is to
allow for the recording of measurements that are needed to track
performance measures such as operating hours.
The procedure for creating a measuring point for an equipment or
functional location includes:
5. Determine the equipment or functional location requiring the
measuring point.
6. Select the appropriate characteristic (in most cases this will be
operating hours)
7. Estimate the annual number of counter.
8. Save the measuring point.
BUSINESS APPLICATIONS
The need to create a non-counter measuring point is determined by
the user and is based on the need to track various types of
measurements on an object such as an equipment or functional
location.
This topic focuses on creating a Non-Counter measuring point. Noncounters are used typically to collect and track measurements of
objects such as temperature gauges, pressure maintaining vessels
and/or other types of devices were measurement readings are
needed to be maintained.

Topic 3: Create Measurement Document

OBJECTIVES
After completing this topic, you will be able to create a measurement
document.
OVERVIEW/PURPOSE
The purpose of creating measurement documents is to update
measuring points such as counters. When counters are used to
generate preventive maintenance PM orders, the counter MUST
have an initial value.
Measurement documents can be entered either on an individual
basis or by way of multiple entries. This procedure will explain
how to enter multiple measurement documents.
BUSINESS APPLICATIONS
Measurement documents are used as a means of updating measuring point
counter readings that are used to create preventive maintenance orders.
They are also used to update measuring point non-counter readings such as
temperature and pressure readings that need to be monitored for
performance measures.

OBJECTIVES
After completing this topic, you will be able to find a measurement
document using list edit and reverse the document.
OVERVIEW/PURPOSE
The purpose of this topic is to demonstrate how to find a
measurement document in the system and then change that
document by reversing the entry.
The procedure includes:
1. Finding the measurement document using list edit
2. Selecting and accessing the document
3. Use the menu path to set the reverse indicator
