PROBLEM STATEMENT

When an LSAN Zone is activated, aliases in the defined zone database will be replaced with
members of the alias.
Defined Aliases are not actually lost, they are still there in defined Zone database in the switch, but
they are not associated with the zones.

RISK ASSESSMENT
Aliases in the Zones in the defined zone database will be replaced with alias members.
SYMPTO MS

After activating LSAN Zone, the Zones in the defined zone database, will have the alias members
instead of alias.

WORKAROUND

Do not use LSAN scope for Zoning when zone aliases are used in edge fabrics
Instead create the LSAN Zones manually in the fabrics (with LSAN_ prefix) in which end devices
need to be shared, i.e. if the customer has 2 edge fabrics in which devices have to be shared, then
they will have to create the LSAN zones in 2 edge fabrics.
Note:
If the aliases are replaced by the zone members then mapping between zone and zone aliases have to
be recreated. Note that zone aliases are not lost but only the mapping with zones is lost.
Following steps can be used to find out the zone alias that contains a zone member
1. Select any alias from the list shown in Left hand side
2. Press Ctrl + F or Right Click Tree Search
3. Type the WWN
After finding the alias, replace the zone member with the selected alias.
