Please read all the instructions very carefully

1-

Literary

A- Quiz
1- Each team must consist of 3 participants
2- There will be a written preliminary round and teams will be selected for the finals
3- Final will be audio-visual questions
4- The specific rules regarding evaluation procedure, time to reply a particular question
and types of round will be given before the start of the competition
B- Elocution
1- It is an Individualistic competition
2- Medium of Expression could be Hindi, English, or Sanskrit
3- Topic of Elocution will be declared one day before the event
4- Paper Reading / Points in writing is not allowed
5- The sequence of speakers will be decided by the lottery system

C- Debate
1- A team of two students will be allowed, one will speak FOR while the other will speak
AGAINST the motion
2- The mode of expression could be Hindi, English, or Sanskrit
3- Topic of Debate will be declared one day before the event
4- Paper Reading / Points in writing is not allowed

D- Essay Writing
1- It is an Individualistic competition
2- The topic of the Essay will be declared one day before the event
3- The judgement will be based on the content, impact of words used, clarity of
presentation, and interpretation of data

E- Turn Coat
1- It is an Individualistic competition
2- Participants have to speak FOR the motion and AGAINST the motion either in English
or Hindi
3- The topic will be given 10 minutes before the start on the spot

F- Poetry Recitation
1- It is an Individualistic competition
2- Medium of Poetry Recitation could be Hindi, English, or Sanskrit
3- The topics of the poetry will be declared one day before the event and participants
shall recite the poetry on any one of the four topics announced
4- The poems should be the compositions of the participant
5- Judgement will be based on content, presentation, and expressions

Fine Arts

A- On the Spot Painting


1- The subject of painting will be given on the spot by the convener
2- The time given will be limited to 50 minutes
3- Painting can be done in oil, water, poster or pastel colors
4- Size of the painting will be half imperial size drawing paper i.e. 22 inches X 15 inches
5- Candidates should bring their own material like brushes, paints, etc. Only Paper /
Sheet will be provided
B- Collage
1- The topic/subject will be given one day prior to the contest and the item is to be
conducted on the spot.
2- The time given will be limited to 15 minutes
3- Participants must bring their own scissors, pasting, and other material required for
the contest. Sheet / Paper will be provided
4- Sheet size: 15 inches X 22 inches
C- Poster Making
1- Subject / Topic will be given one day prior to the contest and the item is to be
conducted on the spot.
2- The time given will be limited to 45 minutes
3- Sheet size: 22 X 15
4- Participants must bring their own material. Only paper / sheet will be provided
D- Logo Designing
1- A logo is to be designed of Institute of Management Studies (upgraded from FMS,
BHU)
2- It must consist of some part of logo of BHU and not only Management is to be
portrayed. But make sure you dont portray goddess Saraswati as it is not permitted
3- It must be an original creation but you can take an idea from existing logo of the
management institutes
4- It must not be totally different from the existing logo
5- The logo if liked by the jury may be an official logo of our institute
6- It may be handmade or the participants may design it on the computer and a hard
copy is to be submitted at 5th of February to the Coordinators. It is not to be prepared
on the spot
E- Sketching
1- The participants must bring their own materials
2- Themes will be given on the spot
3- The time allotted will be limited to 30 minutes
4- The sheet / paper will be provided on the spot

F- Cartooning
1- Item will be conducted on the spot on the topic / subject communicated one day prior
to the contest
2- The time allotted will be limited to 30 minutes
3- The participants must bring their own material. Only Paper / Sheet will be provided

G- Rangoli
1- The participants must bring their own material and the there is no restriction on the
theme
2- Only one medium shall be used Poster Colors or Flower Petals or Saw Dust or Pulses
or Suji or Rice without pasting
3- The participants shall have to prepare a rangoli within the space provided by the
convener
4- The time allotted will be limited to 50 minutes
H- Mehandi
1- The participants must bring their own material
2- The participant can bring one assistant on whose palm he / she can make the design
3- The time allotted will be limited to 50 minutes
I-

On the Spot Photography


1- The participant has to bring his / her own digital camera of not more than 12 mega
pixels along with data transfer cable
2- The digital camera should have a memory card which will be formatted by the judges
before the commencement of the contest
3- The participant has to capture 5 photographs on the theme announced on the spot
by the judges
4- Mixing, Matching, or Morphing of the photographs will not be permitted
5- Photo enhancing software such as Photoshop, etc is not permitted
6- The organizers will have all rights for the use of these pictures as and when they deem
fit
7- Digital images will be evaluated on the basis of impact, composition, technical quality,
and suitability of the specific theme
8- Additional Instructions, if any, will be announced on the spot
