– “I must first have the sense of God’s possession of
me before I can have the sense of His presence
with me.”
• The Divine Goal:

• GLORY--Romans 3:23
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

– The word glory here means his manifest perfection

of character; especially His righteousness

– Man’s thought is always the punishment that will

COME if he sins, God’s thought is the GLORY he
MISSED thru sin.
• This “glory” was God’s purpose for man
originally, but man “fell short” of it through
sin—only Adam really knew what was lost in
garden
• Jesus’ coming was not just to forgive man of
sin, but was to restore man to “glory”
• God’s purpose in redemption is GLORY!
• What is that glory? Where is it? How do I get
it?
• Jn.1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt
among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory
as of the only begotten of the Father, full of
grace and truth.
• Key to this verse is found in the word ‘dwelt’
• Comes from ‘skeno’ to pitch a tent or
tabernacle
• ‘we beheld his glory,,,’
• “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit
…, that we may also be glorified together”
Ro.8:16-18
• “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to
be conformed to the image of His Son, that He
might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom He predestined, these He also
called; whom He called, these He also justified;
and whom He justified, these He also
glorified(Ro.8:29-30
• 10 He was in the world, and the world was
made through Him, and the world did not
know Him. 11 He came to His own,[c] and His
own[d] did not receive Him. 12 But as many as
received Him, to them He gave the right to
become children of God, to those who believe
in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood,
nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of
man, but of God.( Jn.1)
• You are BORN AGAIN into family of God!
• Two trees in the garden: Tree of Life and the
Tree of knowledge of good and evil.
• Adam was created innocent and needed
DEVELOPMENT. From innocence to holiness.
• These 2 trees were for the purpose of choice
so in choosing he might develop into God’s
ultimate goal for him—reflect His Son!
 Two Principles: Divine and Human
• James 1:12 LIFE of Dependence

• SELF-reliance

• Luke 4: 1-14 tells the story of crown of life

living and development for US as believers
• Jesus IS the tree—you don’t eat the tree but
the FRUIT!
• Adam chose path of self reliance then was
banned from the tree
• You are given the opportunity through Christ
to partake of the tree and DEVELOP into ALL
that God has for you which is GLORY!
• HE THAT HATH THE SON HATH LIFE!
