NALCO 77225

INTERNAL BOILER TREATMENT

Product Bulletin

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION

NALCO 77225 is a boiler feedwater treatment for scale control, achieved through a combination of a phosphate residual
programme and Transport Plus polymer technology. It can be used as a phosphate treatment for low hardness, softened
and/or dealkalized feed waters in boilers operating at pressures up to 40 barg. The complex phosphate reacts with calcium
and magnesium, while the organic polymer provides transport of the calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphate and silica
through the boiler. The formation of adherent deposits is prevented, thus increasing steam production runs, reducing the
danger of tube overheating and lessening the outage time for boiler cleaning.

DOSAGE AND FEEDING

The dosage of NALCO 77225 will vary depending on the water quality and boiler pressure. Exact dosage requirements will
be determined by your on-site Nalco representative.
Consequences of overfeed
Overfeed of NALCO 77225 will result in high chemical costs. Excessive feed will also contribute high boiler water solids and
phosphate values, which will require excessive blowdown to keep the program in control.
Consequences of underfeed
Underfeed of Nalco 77225 will result in an excursion from proper co-ordinated phosphate-pH control parameters. Being
outside of proper control parameters can lead to rapid boiler system scaling and/or corrosion.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND TOXICITY DATA

Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet, Section 11 for toxicology information (Aquatic and mammalian toxicity) and Section
12 for environmental information.

SAFETY AND HANDLING
