Biography of Christine Yau

Over 20 years of managing projects which span across different countries, industries and
solutions. Graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree majoring in Computer
Science from University of Melbourne, Australia and a Master degree in IT Management
(MITM) from University of Wollongong, Australia and an Executive Diploma in Finance and
Corporate Accounting. Certified PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner and Certified Professional IT
(Project Director), as well as an assessor and a member of the Project Management Expert
Group for Hong Kong IT Professional Certification.

Currently Executive VP - External of PMI HK Chapter. Prior to that, she served as the VP
Education of PMI HK Chapter (2009-2013) and the Chairman of the IT Club, the first special
interest group of PMI HK Chapter(2007-2014).

Christine currently holds a Vice President position at PCCW Solutions Ltd, where she runs
and takes care of the P&L of an Operating Unit, is responsible for Solutions Management,
Projects Delivery and also the management of PMO. She has held various roles such as
Project Director, Project Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, Business Process Reengineering (BPR) Change Manager, IT Architect and DBA in projects across different
countries including Hong Kong, Australia, USA, United Kingdom and Australia. Christine is
also the Programme Manager for SOA-QPS (HKSARG) and has experience in developing,
managing and growing PMO within the organization and also for external clients.

History of PMI HK Chapter

PMI HK Chapter established in 1997, formed by 5 founding members

Support from top business executives from various large corporations,


especially those from the information technology sector, as PMI
executive council and sponsoring their staff to join as members.

Founding members and the executive council member of PMIHK


Chapter carried out various activities, including some of these:
Established framework for Project Management for government
Visits to government to promote PMP credentials and the
importance of Project Management
Visits to large corporations to advocate membership benefits
and the value of PMP certification.
Organized tremendous number of networking activities to
promote PMIHK membership and PMP certification.
Organized a number of company visits and related events for
PMIHK members to learn form the successful experiences of
companies in deploying project management to achieve
substantial business results.
