GRADING:
To achieve a PASS, all criteria identified in the assignment are met.
To achieve MERIT marks, the student must firstly achieve all conditions for a PASS.
(M1) The Evidence shows that relevant socio-cultural or economic theories have been
applied.

(M3) A range of presentation techniques (use of meaningful tables, graphs, figures, analytical
tools such as PESTEL, etc.) have been utilised, with references and brief explanations in
the text.

To achieve DISTINCTION marks, the student must firstly achieve all conditions for
MERIT:
(D1) Conclusions have been arrived at and have been justified.
(D2) Autonomy/independence during research has been demonstrated. All draft-submission
deadlines have been met.
(D3) Ideas and sound strategies have been proposed on key requirements of the assignment,
written clearly, correctly, concisely and cohesively.
