Continuing Education Program for Islamic Studies Teacher in Camp Crame

Elementary School and Camp Crame High School

Rationale:
Islamic Studies Education is one of the core subjects of both Elementary and High
School Values Education as mandated by Department of Education. As the
teachers are primarily the curriculum implementors , it is imperative that these
teachers are adequately equipped to teach their pupils. Part of this is continuing
education program of these teachers both to enhance their skills and augment
their skills and methodologies employed in teaching. Camp Crame Elementary
and high school in their implementation of the DEPED Islamic values program
noticed a sharp dropout rate in those students enrolled in the Madrassah
Program. Initial interviews and assessment shows that the teachers were ill-
equipped and were repeating topics per year level and were not implementing
required curriculum. And thus, parents eventually withdrew their children from
the program. This Project aims to answer such need.
