INTRODUCTION
I choose the topic of HR Audit for my Final Project. It’s just because of most of
the well organized & well established companies make this practice to improve
their atmosphere as better working condition for the employees. Actually I think
so if the companies follow the proper HR strategies then the worker prefer them
to work with. I choose this topic because it’s my personal area of interest.

HR Audit is a process which providing a quick way to take stock of a company’s


human resources and practices with an eye towards improving them. In HR Audit
we measure the performance of companies in eight key areas which includes.

 Child labor
 Forced labor
 Health & Safety
 Free occasions and collective bargaining
 Discrimination
 Disciplinary practices

I want to do this research because this research includes the audit of all the HR
topics which I studied in MBA. And it’s an opportunity for me to learn, check out &
to ensure the effective utilization of human resource. This research is also helpful
for me to check how human resource department manage & prepare to meet the
potential challenges and opportunities.

Background

HR Audit helps an organization to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of


HR Department. Now a days every popular public and private sector
organizations having a HR Department for better findings and utilization of
manpower but in most of the organization HR Managers did not respond as well
as they have the liability. In small and middle level private and public sector no
authority given to the HR Department except conducting an interview.

Initial findings I have in the leading home appliances industries with direct
competition which I selected for my project. In PEL there is a HR department but
running in the pressure of labor unions but works better. Working atmosphere
and remuneration are well organized according to the qualification, experience
and rank. But in Orient Group Of Companies no appointment letter to be issued
to appointed person from HR department which is basic and organized
documents which shows the relationship with the company and secure the
employees toward employer. Cool industries also having the HR Department in

competition level. It is also working for better working conditions and benefits of
the employees. These are the initial findings after taking basic information about
performance of HR Department. But the question is that “Are employees satisfied
and love to work for employer or just work for fulfilling the daily needs of Life”.

According to these situations I am preparing a questionnaire to check the


satisfaction level of the employees in all three companies (i.e. satisfied due to
group name, Remuneration and reward system etc.). And is HR Department
helps them to make satisfied.

Objective

The purpose of this project is to check the effectiveness of HR Department in all


of three companies which are in direct competition in the field of home
appliances. After completing the survey I will summarize al the data and give
points to the companies according to the fulfilling of HR parameters. Which
company got maximum points it will be consider or mark as best company in the
field of HR. At last I give some recommendation how these companies improve
their HR working to satisfy their employees and some focusing points for the
management.

To achieve the objective I will conduct the interview from all level employees from
all three companies (for this purpose I will take samples from each department)
to check out the major responsibilities of HR Department, their fulfilling ratio, and
employees perception about HR. And I also collect the suggestion from

employees how they can satisfy if they are not and the points to which they can
work better.

Importance

In human resources audit we usually involve review of all HR policies, practices,


and procedures, whether or not they are formal. It includes reviewing documents,
interviewing human resources professionals from different areas of the
organization, interviewing some managers at different levels of the organization,
and possibly interviewing in-house employment counsel.

An effective HR audit will culminate in a well-organized report. The report


includes not only the specific results of the audit, but also a list of recommended
actions. The recommended actions which suggested might be in shape to
change the policies and procedures of the company and to design training

courses targeted to minimize risk or writing a series of employee communications
to address some of the issues discovered.

I will conduct structured interviews for data collection tools. For this purpose I
also prepare a questionnaire to be filled by myself while conducting interviews .I

Increase the sample size as you are studying three different organizations so you
should take big sample.

Fieldwork /Data Collection

When the data about related topics concern I collect this data through websites,
reference books & handouts etc. And the data about company & their policies I
think so the management of all three companies is so cooperative. For this
purpose I also conduct interviews with top managers & staff and fill out the
questionnaire to correspond with workers.

The quality of answers will be check through cross questioning and during the
interview with other staff. In the filling of questionnaire I select a sample from
different departments with a same designation & authorities.

Data Processing & Analysis

After the filling of questionnaire & structured interview answers I will put this
information into the computer with excel format which help me to point out some
common activities which take place in all three companies & the mind structure of
the workers about the loyalty of company (i.e. Pay structure of the company ,
Benefits etc).

Analysis of gathered data with the requirements of HR strategies & my area of


audit will be possible at computer after the processing of data.
