and give the rate of change in that direction.

(iii) The atmospheric temperature is given by T (x, y, z) = x2 + y 2 z. Calculate


the directional derivative of T in the direction 4 i + 4 j 2 k at (1, 1, 2).

If a body at (1, 1, 2) is moving toward the point of lowest temperature, find

the direction of that body.


14. (i) Find the unit normal vector at (2, 3, 1) to the surface
