How to get from Chicago to Wi Dells:

After you arrive at OHare Airport in Chicago, there are 4 options to arrive in Wi Dells:
Greyhound Bus or Amtrak Train (there is usually only 1 train or bus per day from Chicago to Wi
Dells)
From the airport: Have $2.75 exact change. Find the CTA blue line El Train.

The train will leave every 10 minutes 24 hours/day. Take the CTA blue line to the Clinton Street stop
(Approximately 50 minutes). Next you will choose to either ride the Greyhound Bus or ride the Amtrak train
to Wisconsin Dells, the directions for both follow:
1. To the Greyhound Bus Station:
Get off the train and exit the station. Walk one block South on Clinton Street to Harrison Street. Go Right
on Harrison Street. The Downtown Chicago Greyhound Bus Station will be one block ahead at 630 West
Harrison Street. You can call the Bus Station at (312) 408-5821. Be sure to look for scheduled times at
www.greyhound.com. You may get in too late to take the Greyhound so check your arrival time vs. the
bus times. Do NOT, under any circumstances, stay overnight at the bus station in Chicago. You can take
another transportation option, get a motel for the night, or even stay at the airport but do NOT stay
overnight at the bus station.
The Greyhound Bus will drop you off in Wisconsin Dells at the CITGO Gas Station at 611 Frontage Road at
the crossroads of Highway 13 and County Road H, Wisconsin Dells, WI. You will then need to call a local
taxi (Kangaroo Taxi or Wi Dells Taxi) to take you to your housing.
2. To the Amtrak Station:
Get off the train and exit the station. Walk a short distance east on the ramp. Turn left on S. Clinton Street.
Walk 0.16 mile North on S. Clinton Street. Walk straight on Union Station walkway. Turn right on Union
Station Clinton/Jackson. Walk a short distance North on Union Station Clinton/Jackson. Turn right on Union
Station Walkway. Walk a short distance east on Union Station Walkway. Arrive at the Amtrak Station. Total
Walking in 0.32 miles. Be sure to look for scheduled times at www.amtrak.com.
You may arrive in Chicago too late to take the Amtrak so check your arrival time vs. the train times. Do
NOT, under any circumstances, stay overnight at the train station in Chicago. You can take another
transportation option, get a motel for the night, or even stay at the airport but do NOT stay overnight at
the train station.
The Amtrak train will drop you off in Downtown Wisconsin Dells. You will then need to call a local taxi
(Kangaroo Taxi or Wi Dells Taxi) to take you to your housing.

Go online and book in advance but pay upon arrival.
If you get in very late, you may need to stay overnight in Chicago, the shuttle will take you to a motel
where they have special rates of $65 per night for a room, up to 4 people.
4. Van Galder Bus from Chicago to Madison - and then Kangaroo Taxi or AAA Taxi from
Madison to Wisconsin Dells

Purchase tickets from the driver. Exact change for cash fare appreciated. Please check with your airlines for
required check in times before departure and plan your trip accordingly. You will want to get off at the
Dutch Mill park n ride but you MUST have your pick up by Kangaroo taxi arranged BEFORE you get on the
bus. Dont get off the bus in Madison and think you can call for a ride, they may not be available if they
dont have advance notice.
