Kacy: I am a spirit child of my Heavenly Father. Psalms 82:6 All of you are
children of the most high. Heavenly Father loves me, and he sent me to earth to
live with a family.
Taegan: My daddy presides over my family, provides for me, and protects my
family with love. He also works on the garage, he makes teeter totters, he plays
with me, and he likes to do other kinds of fun stuff with us too.
Josh R.: My mom’s job is to nurture me, care for me, and to teach me. My mom
does those things for me, and many other things. She does laundry, makes me
food, takes me to my friend’s house, and even wakes me up in the morning,
whether I like it or not. I love my mom so much.
Tylee: Mosiah 13:20 “Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days
may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.”
In order to make my home the happiest place it can be I need to
obey my parents. I also do my chores, and other people’s chores, play games with
my sisters, and I love to make my family laugh. Most importantly I need to work
on developing a relationship with my Heavenly Father through prayer and reading
the scriptures so that I can have a peaceful home.
Dakota S.: My family and I can serve others. By serving others, we show
Heavenly Father we love him. Heavenly Father also has servants that are working
for our good everyday.
Zach: The scriptures have many great examples of how Heavenly Father blessed
families because of their righteousness. Noah’s family was protected from the
great flood because of their faith and obedience to Heavenly Father. Lehi’s family
was obedient and left Jerusalem safely before it was destroyed. Joseph and Mary
were warned by Heavenly Father to take Jesus and flee to Egypt to keep him safe.
These families were protected because of their righteousness. If our families are
righteous Heavenly Father will help protect us too.
Adam A.: Mosiah 4:13 “And ye will not have a mind to injure one another, but to
live peaceably.”
Kacy B.: Each family member needs to work together to create a peaceful home.
We can achieve that by praying as a family, reading our scriptures daily, having
weekly Family Home Evening, and attending our church meetings. We can also
achieve peace in our homes by living and participating in the principles and
ordinances of the gospel.
Sing 4th Article of Faith
Dakota H.: Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the first principle of the gospel.
Faith is to hope for things which are not seen, which are true. In the primary song
“Faith” it says: Faith is knowing the sun will rise, lighting each new day. Faith is
knowing the Lord will hear my prayers each time I pray. Faith is like a little seed,
if planted it will grow.”
My seed of faith has been planted and it can help strengthen my family. I am
going to continue helping my faith grow by reading my scriptures, and praying to
my Heavenly Father. I will prepare to strengthen my family by building my
foundation on faith.
Taryn: Baptism is the third ordinance of the gospel. Each of us has had or will
have the opportunity to be baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Our prophets teach us that we can be
baptized when we are 8 years old. I turned 8 on January 17th this
year and was baptized on February 7th by my grandpa. I was a
little bit nervous, but I had my family and friends there so that
made me feel better. I was really glad that my daddy and my
cousin Joey could be there.
The water in the baptismal font was warm, and my grandpa
was already in the water waiting for me. He took my hand and
said the prayer and dunked me all the way under the water. That
is called immersion and that is exactly the same way Jesus was
baptized. After I was baptized, I got out of the water. I got dried
off and put on the new white dress and new white shoes that
grandma bought me. My baptism clothes and my dress were
white because they are like heaven and because my sins were
washed away.
My baptism was important. Now if I make a mistake, I can
repent and that sin will be washed away so I can be clean again.
When I was baptized and confirmed, I became a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Now that I am
baptized I can go back and live with Heavenly Father again.
When I was baptized I made a covenant with Heavenly
Father. I promised to serve Him and keep his commandments
and remember Jesus. Heavenly Father also made a promise to
me. He will send me blessings and the Holy Ghost to help me
every day if I choose the right. Every time I take the sacrament, I
remember the promise I made to Heavenly Father and the
promise He made to me. Every time I take the sacrament, I think
about Jesus. Every time I take the sacrament, it is like being
baptized again.
My baptism is special to me.
The fourth ordinance of the gospel is “the laying on of
hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.” When I was confirmed, I
received blessings. I was blessed with being a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and also the blessing
of having the companionship of the Holy Ghost.
Adam: Jesus was also born into a family just like me.
Trever: Jesus partook of the sacrament, served and blessed others, and his
example can help me choose the right in my life. I think about Jesus and
remember Him each Sunday as I partake of the sacrament. I promise quietly in
my heart to follow Him and keep His commandments.
“Beautiful Savior”
Tyler B.: Not only do I want to return and live with my Heavenly Father and
Jesus, I want to live with my family forever. Heavenly Father has given us temples
so we can live as families forever. I will help my family become eternal by first
strengthening my own testimony and serving others.
Will B: The temple is a house of God. I will start preparing now so that I am
worthy to enter the temple when it is time.
