4TH SUNDAY OF EASTER

APRIL 25, 2010
PRAYERS FOR THE DECEASED: We pray for our loved ones who have died recently
especially Lorna Kyer and Emmett Burnett.
PRAYERS FOR THE SICK AND SHUT-IN: “Let us raise up in prayer those who seek
God’s healing love, those at the hospital, hospice and at home”. May your struggle be
consoled by Christ’s love“.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

T oday, Good Shepherd Sunday, is a special day for everyone in our

parish. We celebrate World Day of Prayer for Vocations. We ask
that we may be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit as we carry on the
mission of Jesus, our Good Shepherd.
As we celebrate this feast we pray for fidelity to our vocation. The Church invites
us to honour the vocation of all Christians given at baptism. May we who have
dedicated our lives to God through the vocation of priesthood, deaconate, consecrated
life, single and married life remain faithful to our commitments. May our youth,
striving to discern their life vocation, listen to God’s call and be encouraged to
respond generously.

Our parish is so fortunate to have such wonderful people who help out with their time and
baking talents so that we may continue to make our parish supper a great community event.
Next weekend the food donation and volunteer sheets will be attached to the SFX bulletin.
Please fill in these sheets and return them to the Parish by Sunday, May 16th. The more
sheets that the convenors receive, the less phone calls they will have to make! Thank
you in advance.

CATHOLIC EDUCATION: “REJOICING IN HOPE”

C atholic Education Week will be celebrated from May 2 to May 7. This year’s
theme, “Catholic Education: Rejoicing in Hope”, comes from St. Paul’s letter to
the Philippians where he writes, “Rejoice in the Lord always… and the God of Peace
will be with you.” (Phil 4:4,9) During this week, schools will be celebrating the gift of
Catholic Education with special prayers and presentations. We ask that the Parish
continue to pray for our Catholic schools, that they may be marked by God’s hope and
joy. Contact your local school for more details.
