The initial length and diameter of the soil specimen was measured.
2)
The specimen was placed on the base plate of the compression device and centered it
on the bottom plate.
3)
Upper plate is adjusted by the device to makes contact with the soil specimen.
4)
The device glass lid was put back and the screw has been locked.
5)
The load and deformation dial gauge had been set to zero.
6)
The reading was taken for every 15 seconds until the reading was constant at least
for 3 times then failed.
7)
The screw and the glass lid has been opened and the soil specimen has been taken
for further observation.

DISCUSSION
From the graph normal stress, versus strain, , the peak stress that we obtained is 109x103
N/mm2. From the graph shear stress, versus normal stress, , the parameter, cohesion, c and
angle of Mohrs circle, are 0 N/mm2 and 45o respectively.
There are many errors while calculating the table. There are many units that needs to be
converted. Therefore, calculating errors may be occur. Furthermore, the value of force
applied was not taken. Therefore, the calculation of the shear stress may not accurate.
The graph are wrong, not as it supposed to be. As the calculation may have errors, the graph
also turns out to be different.
CONCLUSION
In order to obtain the correct values and graph, we need to take the correct data from the
experiment. If not, we will get inaccurate data therefore errors will be occur. To conclude,
the table was failed to get an accurate data. Precaution for the next experiment is we need to
take all information that are necessary to get a smooth data and graph.
