Calculations for Pre-Treatment tanks and/or Primary Clarifiers provided
Calculations shall include the following:
a. Retention Time for Tanks
b. Tank dimensions and volume
c. Water Velocity in Clarifier
d. Skimmer Scraper Power in Clarifier

Calculations shall include the following:
a. Reactor Volume

c. Mixed Liquor SS Solids

e. Food/Mass Ratio
Note: the same details for calculation for a different type of reactor would apply
Calculations Showing Oxygen Requirement for Aeration Tank provided
Calculations must include the following:
a. Oxygen Requirement (Kg Gzld)
b. Efficiency of Equipment ()
c. Air required for mixing (Specifications for blower/aerator required)
Lifting devices provided for removal of aerators (details required)

Plan and Sectional Drawings of Clarifier
Calculations must include the following:
a. Tank dimensions and volume
b. Recycle Ratio
c. Solids Loading Rate
d. Overflow Rate
e. Weir loading Rate
f. Retention Time

E.g. Sludge Drying Bed, calculations must include
a. Volume of Wet Sludge
b. Mass of Secondary Solids
c. Dimensions and number of Sludge Beds
d. Drainage and media provided (details required)

Disinfection
Disinfection methodology/Type of disinfection proposed
No. of units to be used and order of use - must state the following
a. Minimum/Maximum Flow rate to be treated by each UVlChlorination System
b. Effluent levels that are expected with the system proposed

Generator (for Large WWTP) provided. Auxillary storage fuel, noise control, measures, plinth, housing, vent,
unit specifications provided
Operations and Maintenance Plan (for Large WWTP) provided
Sampling points on the influent and effluent of the WWTP provided
Setback distances should be a minimum of 25 m and l.5m from property and habitable buildings for Large
WWTPs and Small WWTPs respectively.
Independent bypass along system provided
Certification for pre fabricated WWTP form a Reputable Organisation, specs. provided
Pipe sizes, length, type and classes to be used in the WWTP provided
Piping properly secured. Aboveground PVC pipework to be laid below ground, encased or be replaced by steel
type
Valves used within WWTP suitable for use in wastewater environments, specs req'd
WWTP located downwind of habitats & downstream of water treatment plant
Adequte security lighting, fencing, signage and accessway provided
Potable water (hose bib), water storage (90 lpm at 30 m pressure) and pump provided

n. Grounds must be properly paved and have proper surface drainage, vehicular and service access to WWTP
